PSA: avoid Santa Maria for a while

Course is in shite conditions. Greens are slowwwwww and bumpy. Course is holdin water on the slopes (not sure how), and pace of play is disastrous.
They’re also charging full price for that dump. May want to give it a few months before shelling out what they’re asking.

We waited 30 minutes to tee off on 4.
Had a foursome in front of us and 2 of em couldn’t hit it off the box with irons. Took us almost 4 hours to play the front

Was just coming here to ask the board about SM. We have a tee time Tuesday there and haven’t been there since mid June. At that time the greens were very slow but the course was okay all things considered. High traffic there.

I can’t stand much about the whole course. The parking lot is a cluster, the pro shop is a dump, there’s a perfect opportunity to have food/alcohol service for before, during, after a round. Their putting and chipping area is pretty good. I can’t stand hitting off of mats and despite having multiple’marshalls’ the oace of play on a weekend is atrocious. No water stations and sometimes a cart girl, sometimes not. Doesn’t help that the course is pretty tough too!

We skipped em at the turn and finished up in about 2 hours. Course was wide open on the back due to how slow these bums were.

Played there yesterday and got 9 holes in before a torrential downpour. It was already wet, and after that rain, I bailed.
Was told about punched greens in the pro shop and they charged twilight rate instead of full price. Rain check was issued at 9 hole full price.
Yes, the greens were bumpy from being punched and slower than normal. But they didn't putt badly at all.
Our foursome teed off at 9:36 and finished 9 at 11:08, even with carts on path and waiting on the group in front to get back to their carts after shots. I'm calling bullshite on a 4 hour front 9.

Call it what you want, you weren’t there. You also weren’t charged full rate. You also were warned in pro shop.
You also had no reason to call after the round and raise hell. I have no reason lie about the duration

That's absurd.. That pace of play in front of me I'm calling the clubhouse or I'm gonna start hitting into your group..
Worst pacing though that I've dealt with at a local course has been Carter last time we played they stacked us in there and it ended up taking 5 1/2 hours to play..
