Played on Sunday.

- I was kind of surprised at how many trees they have cleared out along the bayous. Looks opened up a good bit without leaves on the trees.

-The greens are hit and miss. Some are in really good shape. Others still need some work to have them ready for spring. The ones in good shape rolled pretty quick. The mixture of some fast greens with some that look like broccoli induced me into 40-putt round, so that's fun.

-The bunkers are trash. This company has really got their work cut out for them to get the bunkers playable.

Played there a couple of weeks ago. Talked to the assistant at the check in and he said that the Audoban tour was going to kick in some money to improve the bunkers and build up number 7 fairway for drainage purposes. Course was okay, some greens were a little iffy, but all in all not a bad experience except the 4 putt on 4 and 6.

They have the APT tournament there March 9 so they better get it going now.

LMAO. it takes a little longer than that to really fix bunkers. APT tour players are use to playing in those conditions.

This was needed.

I’ve always enjoyed that course. Alexandria is pretty lucky to have oak wing, links on the bayou and even marksville course at casino in the area

Played today. The fairways are basically dead. Robbie thinks a little rain will help, but it looks to me like there's no plant root system to help in far too many places. Worst it's ever been, and probably the worst fairways I have ever seen.

Playing in Lions Club tournament at Oakwing this weekend. Really disappointed to read about the quality of the course.

Played last week and I was shocked to see it in such bad shape. The greens are actually in great shape but the rest of the course was as bad as I ever it.

The good news is that if you can flight a driver or 3 wood down a little bit you can get 50-60 yards of roll on every hole. Not much grass to slow the ball down.

Bad news: You’ll be hitting your approach shots off of hard dirt.

What happened to AGCC? That was a well run place.

Anyone known if the Deep South is still played?

That was in my rotation back in the day.

Deep South and Firecracker in Bastrop - a what amazing times - 30 years ago.

AGCC seemed to be so well run and always a treat to travel there.

Deep South had some really, really good teams. Firecracker was too heavy - you did not want to be in the Championship flight.

Don't know how you can say the greens are in great shape. Greens 1, 2 and 3 have about 10 sq. ft. of area where you can place a pin position. (Due to crappy patch job). Several greens have severe sandy wash outs around the edges and all greens are covered with poa. I can't imagine any Oakwing member paying extra to play in the Lion's Club tournament.

The debt on the clubhouse was a cloud over the club. By the time the members paid it off and made room for money to go back into the course, Oakwing and Links had taken too many of the young members for it to stay afloat.

It's played at Oakwing.

I miss the country club a lot.

AGCC

Spent many a drunken nights playing putting games until 1:00AM. Seen a dude pass out one night in a golf cart and hit the gas pedal. He went down the hill across number 9 green, down the fairway and over into number 8 before the cart stopped. He never woke up or hit a tree. It was scary and amazing all at the same time.
