Anyone played there before? Playing next Thursday. Need to know what to expect. Heard great things. Any tips would be nice.

Expect a ton of uneven lies and expect an extremely well conditioned and difficult course. Remember to have fun and you’ll love.

If you are ever chipping towards the water, have a buddy stand at the waters edge to catch it before it rolls in.

Don't listen to people who tell you to move up a tee. Play your correct tees or you will bang it through the dog legs all day.

Tough course, amazingly well kept. Enjoy it.

I putted a ball into the water.

Overall great course. Used to be a blast when it was $50. I think they’re pretty proud of it now.

Awesome course. Played in May. Stick to your regular tees and pay attention to the slope on the greens. You may shoot a higher score on your first time there but you’ll really enjoy the experience.

I'm dying to go up there. Everyone I talk to that has been there has said it was one of the best courses they've ever played.

I bombed my first drive in my first round there. Got to my ball and literally didn’t know where to hit my 2nd shot. Bunkers at layup distance, water and bunkers protecting the green as well as a distance that wouldn’t let me feel comfortable swinging at it. The greens are quick, but not as unfair as some days I’ve had at Calvert. Overall a great course and fun round as long as you accept some bad breaks.

How much does a round usually cost at this place for non-members? Weekday any different than weekend rates? I tried to check tee times on their website and didn't have any luck.

It should almost be the time of the year that they charge whatever the temp is when your tee time is.

Unless you’re on the tee box you probably won’t have a level lie most of the day. Greens are big and fast. Don’t play from the tippy tips if you want to enjoy yourself. Probably the closest you’ll get to playing ANGC and it is spectacular. I truly love Mystic, no matter how bad I’ve played there in the past.

Perfect description of my experience. I know the exactly what you’re talking about in #1. You bomb a drive, but when you look over the hill past the dogleg it’s like what in the hell do I do now?

There are no bail outs at Mystic. You have to be 100% committed to every shot or it will balloon your score.
