Yes. I've seen it happen. Cut the corner with driver landing just over the ditch where it meets the cart path. 240 to the hole from there with a draw/fade around the trees.

I've cut the corner off there with a 4 iron. If you land on the downslope, forget it. It takes only a few miles per hour of wind to put you in a spot that precludes an approach in two.

Tough hole to eagle. No doubt.

Try it from somewhere other than the ladies tees next time.

I never found #2 at the island to be all that bad #18 at Gstone sucks. 12 at copper mill is a bear also. Last, I've put more than one ball on Nicholson/the train tracks on #16 at LSU

17 at LSU is the hardest par 4 that comes to mind right now

Granted I haven't played LSU in at least 5 years and I wasn't all that good back then. Also, tough par 4's seem to stick out less in my head.

I agree.

If you are looking for the hole least likely to be eagled, the two at Greystone would be up there. They aren't long, but the layout pretty much prevents you from getting home in two. But in reality, neither are that hard. You just hit long iron, long iron, short iron onto the green.

#3 at UClub is unreal from the tips. I hit driver, 3w, 5i from the very back and that isn't a green you want to have a 5i into. By far the hardest part 5 that comes to mind. I honestly can't think of a par 5 in the area that is harder.

I only know the hole from the aerial shot but that looks about right. And greystone 18 isn't an iron from the tips. It's driver or 3W. Has to be straight. Long iron/wood. If you're in the left side of the fairway, it requires a draw to get inside 180. And it's not a difficult green to hit but no matter where the pin is, it's the most difficult putt on the course, even 13.

You could be right. It's been a long time since I played Greystone. I just remember running out of room with the driver on 18.

I don't hit driver there either. I'd run out of room, but it's pointless anyway much like #4 where you know you are laying up. I think what bothers me most is that it's the finishing hole.

I agree. Par 5 finishing hole should be reachable in two, IMHO.

12 at Copper Mill has to be up there, impossible to get on in two

People don't realize how much easier the approach into #3 is when you're coming from the left hand side of the fairway. The lie is more elevated/even with the green which helps stop the ball on such a narrow landing surface, and if the pin is on the right side, the ball naturally funnels towards it. Being able to hit a driver off the deck is big, too

Yea, this is the hardest par 5. When these words come out of someone's mouth, you know it's hard.

I rather the set up when they had the 9's reversed, so the finishing hole is the par 5 over the water. Still not "easily" reachable in 2 but definitely possible. Plus you end the round right there behind the clubhouse, not across the street behind the new homes they're putting up.

Lots of people agree with you. The problem the club had with that was no one stopping at the turn for drinks/snacks. And I think the original switch had to do with how difficult #10 played as the first hole with the tree that used to be down on the right. I don't know who would have a problem with switching it back now.
