Hey guys, me and 3 other classmates are up here in West Monroe and are trying to play some golf for the 1.5 months were up here. There are not many public courses worth a damn and we are really trying to find a member at Calverts or Squires Creek that would potentially want to play a round or sponsor us to play a round!
We are all CRNA students and just want to experience some northern LA golf!

Frenchman’s bend isn’t a bad spot. Don’t know what shape it’s in right now but I enjoyed it last summer

Black Bear should be your go to course.

Frenchmans is pretty wet right now, but in a month will be in great shape.
Black Bear is a 45 minute drive, but well worth it.
Mystic is an hour away and a very nice, but challenging course.
Trail Inn in Arcadia is a lot of fun, cheap and lots of hills. Bout 45 minutes away.
Chennault is not great, but good for a practice round for about $30

^ Pretty much that.
If you're a member somewhere your club pro might could get you a round at Desiard, which would be a nice option.
I would concentrate mainly on Black Bear. Best bang for your buck. And they have some pretty nice stay and play options if yall wanted to do that...

Not sure I'd ever put Frenchmans and great shape in the sentence. But just my opinion.
I do like Calvert and Black Bear.
