Playing Friday afternoon. How are conditions? Have not played here in 3 years or so.

Supposed to get rain Thursday and Friday so expect carts to be on path but that’s not a bad thing at this course. Small fairways and short walks. Greens are good.

Except when it rains at Greystone all the fairways hold water. They are all sloped to the middle vs being sloped to the edges. It’s a bog in the middle of every fairway. We normally stay away for a week if it rains over there.

While you’re not wrong that the drainage being in the middle doesn’t help, now that the grass isn’t being treated with an inhibitor, it’s healthy and soaks up the water much better than it used to. Add in the concerted effort to keep people off the fairways when they should and even shutting down certain fairways just to allow rest, it’s a course that should be in great shape this summer.

Greens are the best they’ve been in a while. They’ve done a helluva job out there. Whole place will be greeeeen quickly!

Haven’t been there since last spring. Glad to hear it’s looking good, I’ll have to check it out next time I go to my son’s house not far from there.

It was. Greens were rolling alot quick than they appeared! Tee boxes were a tad rough. Need some grass to grow in on the fairways but 10x better greens than we played on two years ago. Also food was great!! And beers were cold. Playing Beaver tomorrow, and Santa Maria Saturday.

The fairways need to be punched badly.

Wouldn’t be such a necessity if your FiL and all his pals stayed off the path when and where they’re supposed to

Probably my favorite layout in the area. Makes you hit every club off the tee. Glad to hear it is in good shape.

Wow. I've heard a lot of Greystone takes, but that isn't one I've ever heard.

I've learned not to hate it over the years as it has grown on me.

I guess I find it different. I have always enjoyed playing it.

That's the damn truth.. I don't even pull driver until hole 9. . Im hitting a lot of 5w or 7w/Driving Iron(Depends on how I'm feeling).. Hell #2 I hit a 5i on that tee.. it definitely makes you really think about your shots

The course also makes you hit more than one shot shape.

I for one cannot stand the course due to not being able to tell where you can land or how close OB is. With that said, the greens were in fantastic shape.

You must not travel much for golf. A place like Tobacco Road would ruin you.

ETA: the only OB on the course that comes into play is way left of 3 green (house), way left off the tee on 5 (houses) and way left of the green on 10 (house). I’m assuming you’re talking about hazards.

Yes, my bad. Hazards is what I was referring to.

And for the travel, I've only been to few spots outside Louisiana.
