That ping is laminated, I believe ... don't think they made a persimmon ... wonder how much more loft those irons have than today's ... might want to research the best ball for those woods ... laminated didn't crack as often as persimmon, but I don't know what today's balls would do on that face ...

they're laminated ... persimmon woods were made from one piece of wood, whereas laminated were made from layers of wood pressed together ... persimmon had the reputation for being the better club, but i think that was probably marketing ... they did crack more than laminated, and i can personally attest to that ... bought a beautiful tommy armour persimmon while in hs and had it refinished sometime during college ... loaned it to a friend one weekend and he came back with a shaft that had a splinter on the end ... had shattered ...
