There isn’t for the Majors at this point

Non responsive. Do you care about dilution or not?

Once again, the Majors aren’t diluted, Talor

Angry at LIV for screwing over the players and golf

I still can’t fathom how someone sees what’s going on & doesn’t blame the PGA.

They are the ones who banned them from playing in the PGA & tried to ban them from DP Tour.

Pretending like the PGA tour could survive with its best members only playing 2-3 events a year is for children. They played the only hand they could to not crumble. The only reason they still exist is because of

1. Their ban

2. LIV being foolish enough to not conform for ranking points

Pretty sure that was covered in the first sentence where I said I hate the current state of professional golf.

& yet, we will end up with the same result once the PGA/PIF deal finally happens. The LIV players will be playing in PGA events & Rory will play on the global tour.

& Jay single handedly screwed up the World Golf Rankings for 3+ years because of it

Choosing to blame Jay and the PGA tour and not the Saudis spending billions of dollars lighting on fire to get their way is the oddest take in the entire ordeal for me

You keep saying this, but they did make changes to their league once their application was denied.

Four players “qualified” to play on LIV this year. They added 4 new players ranked in top 100 & 1 top US amateur. More players can get relegated from season standings. They have alternates playing with a chance to earn their spot on LIV next season. They changed their team competition format to where everyone’s scores count on the final day.

They’re never going to change to a 72 hole individual competition with a cut & have a fully open roster to “conform”, but the OWGR didn’t ask them to do that either.

The Saudi money is there regardless.

It would be different if the Saudi paid them & said “you can’t play golf in America” or “you can’t play on PGA anymore”. They didn’t.

Jay & the PGA are the ones who decided to ban them.

The Saudis have said “you have to play 14 of our events”. When you add the four majors, that effectively “bans” the top players from the PGA tour outside of 2-3 events.

The pga tour can’t willing say “sure, top guys, you can leave and now only play 2-3 of our events”. That effectively kills the tour immediately

Pretty sure Gooch & others would have played in a couple extra tournaments if it meant they’d still be ranked in top 50.

Gooch and a few others playing a few extra events wouldn’t have mattered one iota

Are you really going to pretend the tour could have survived with all of the top guys only playing 2-3 events? Don’t. It’s impossible

I’m not sure why you keep saying this. Rory hated LIV. Spieth & JT want to play & win on the PGA Tour. “All of the top guys” were never on the table to leave.

How about my post above about LIV “choosing not to conform”?

Qualifying 4 players in a field of 54 and trying to say they are confirming to the OWGR is laughable

Who says the other 48+ didn’t qualify by being ranked in the top 100 or by winning a major? I’m not sure what they put on their application, but I know they got denied & they’ve made changes for this season.

quote:

“Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, of course they should be in the ranking,” Dawson told the AP.

“We need to find a way to get that done. I hope that LIV can find a solution — not so much their format; that can be dealt with through a mathematical formula — but the qualification and relegation.”

quote:

Bryson DeChambeau believes LIV Golf have met all the requirements to receive recognition from the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR).

"They said 'you need certain requirements', we have fulfilled all those requirements, despite what everybody thinks," he told LIV's Fairway To Heaven podcast. "If you go look at their handbook, we have fulfilled every single criteria. It's been over two years now. "What's going on guys? It's a bit frustrating, but nothing we can do at this moment. If we showcase ourselves in the major championships there's no way they can keep us out. We just got to play well in the majors and once we do, they have no choice."

Yeah, apart from the fact they didn’t fulfill any of them
