In San Antonio I'd say Oak Hills. In Austin I'd say Austin Golf Club. I also love Boot Ranch in Fredericksburg and Escondido and Summit Rock in Horseshoe Bay

San Antonio -

La Cantera - Roller Coaster hole is cool and elevation changes

Hyatt Hill Country - Authur Hill Design, very solid layout

The Quarry - very unique, the quarry holes can be blazing hot in the summer. great to play in the fall.

Just outside of SA -

Landa Park GC in New Braunfels, I absolutely love the new course. One of my favorite courses in South Texas. The Grill is always lively in the afternoons and very fun.

River Crossing in Spring Branch, fun course seems to be always in good shape.

Escondido if you can get on, one of the finest courses I've ever played

Escondido and Summit Rock are cool. Both at Horseshoe Bay.

Escondido is day in and day out as well conditioned a course as I've ever seen. Place has a cool vibe, the members have FU money and are very laid back, definitely doesn't feel like Bushwood.

I have played Cordillera Ranch a couple of times, it's a nice layout.

I’ve played all the (old) Horseshoe bay courses and enjoyed them. Austin Country Club was a treat (twice). My Mom lives out on Lake Buchanan so I like playing Legends LBJ if you’re all the way out there

We played Ramrock from the tips years ago, it beat us down.

Played Ram Rock twice this week. Once in a scramble and once solo. Loved it. Rarely used my driver the solo day.

I’ll second this one.

It’s certainly not the single best golf course in the area, but it is by far the most unique. The back 9 stretch running through the quarry is fantastic. And the clubhouse patio view for post-round drinks is as relaxing as any you will find.

If you’re just in town for a weekend and want to play a course you’ll remember, I say go Quarry.

West San Antonio - Kerrville has some quality tracks. Comanche Trace and Riverhill are nice

Closer to SA - Tapatio/Cordillera

In SA - Silverhorn, TPC, LaCantera
