Would love to get some input from those that have played these locations as I have only played one. I am getting back into golf after being away for quite sometime and debating on participating in golf week's amateur tour. I always wanted to play it and now have the chance. Not looking to be competitive but more along the lines of playing more often, playing some new places, and doing something different. Im looking at the schedule and know that I would not do every tournament (maybe half). With that said, from a general "overall" players experience how would you rank these courses?

Atchafalaya
The Bluffs
Tamahka Trails
LA Tour
The Oaks (Mississippi)
The Island
Koasati Pines
Bayou Oaks at City Park
Beaver Creek
The Wetlands

No experience on any of those except for Koasati Pines and it’s one of my favorite courses I’ve ever played. Lots of variety and always in great shape. Nice range, clubhouse, etc.

I also play on the Golfweek Am Tour, but in Houston and playing tournament golf is some of the most fun I’ve ever had in the game.

Rate them how? I think Atchafalaya, LaTour, and Kosati Pines are all nice courses that are well kept. La Tour is more open than the others as it’s newer and all the trees haven’t grown up like the older courses. The nicest one I’ve played on out of the three, is Kosati. The casino does a great job taking care of the place.
Atchafalaya’s crew does a good job too.
I don’t feel qualified to opine on the difficulty of any of them as my skill level isn’t advanced enough to have an opinion. They all present challenges for me.

Didn't realize you wanted them ranked. This is just the breakdown of them...

The Bluffs- great layout. Condition leaves something to be desired, but it's still one of the best courses in BR, IMO.

Tamahka Trails- played it once, don't remember it being bad at all.

The Island- tight golf course. Some good holes.

Koasati Pines- OK golf course. It's very long from the way back but not as hard as you'd think for how long it is.

Beaver Creek- good golf course, but nothing super special. It winds through woods for a bit and housing development for the other. For the last few years it's been the best shape public course in BR.

The Wetlands- course was fun to play. Was fairly wide open and forgiving.

Of the ones you've listed, you really can't go wrong unless the courses are in bad shape from winter.

If you’re willing to go this far, go an extra 20 minutes and play the preserve for $100. If you don’t want to pay that much, go to Windance.

Of the ones I’ve played:

Atchafalaya - Great Layout. Couple of quirky holes, but really good overall design. When it’s in good shape, prob the course I like playing the most.

The Bluffs- Only played once years ago. Only course around here with significant elevation change. I was honestly pretty underwhelmed. Since I’ve played, it seems like everything I read about it is that it’s in dogshit condition

LA Tour- Great golf course. I think this is the best public access course in South Lousiana. They put a lot more into the design, Refinement and shaping of the course from tee to green than any other course on this list.

The Oaks (Mississippi)- Played once 20 years ago. Enjoyed, but don’t remember anything about it.
The Island- Love playing the Island. It’s got a few ho-hum holes, but it’s got several really, really good ones. I don’t find it “tight” at all, save for a few shots.
Koasati Pines- Played a scramble here once. Bayou Oaks at City Park- I enjoy playing here. It’s not a difficult course unless it’s wet and the rough is grown up, but it’s fun.

Thanks to everyone for their insight. Glad I asked because I was thinking of writing Koasati off due to distance but it seems like it may be one of the best on the list. Thanks again

I really appreciate the kind words about my course Koasati Pines. I will pass the positives remarks on to my team. I have played many of these courses, but I know each of the Superintendents personally. They are some great hard working men and have some die hard teams working to keep these courses as good as mother nature and budget allow. my ranking may be a little Bias.

Koasati Pines
La Tour
Bayou Oaks
Atchafalya
(Santa maria)
Beaver Creek
Wetlands
Bluffs
Tamahka
