Anyone new to spider putters and if so what do they like about it?
I feel good about my pace but I’m always seeming to be off on alignment.

The face insert is soft. Alignment is solid, but if you’re coming from a milled blade, the insert will take a little bit to get the feel down

I had one a couple years ago and I loved the insert but couldn’t get it aligned right. Sold to my buddy and he rocks it to this day.

I was gifted a new one ~7 years ago. I was a bad putter at the time. I still hadn’t decided to put time and effort into the game.

It immediately improved my putting and gave me feels that I’d never felt before(mostly an improved stroke that I could build on).

After a year or so I completely lost feel with it due to how soft the face is. I grew to hate how soft it is. Switched to a a Newport 2.0 and have never looked back.

I would advise anyone to use a spider, at least for a little while. I wouldn’t mind getting another one to throw in the bag every few months.

As others have said, it’s going to be a softer face. There are several companies making a milled face mallet or wide blade.

I love my Sub70 wide blade! Evnroll makes an awesome one too. I think it’s the best of both worlds.
