Local golfer that has never really ventured too far from the home base — TPC Louisiana is as far away from BR I’ve played.

But looking to play outside of my usual Carter, Beaver, Santa Maria, Pelican, Copper, etc rotation.

Where do I need to go play that’s a public course that is within driving distance?

I hear Kosati Pines is immaculate right now. La Tour is a really good course as well. If you open up your radius a smidge, you bring a lot of really nice places on the MS Coast into play… Fallen Oak is a pretty special experience, but you need to spend the night at the Beau Rivage. You also have Grand Bear, The Preserve, Shell Landing, The Oaks, The Bridges, Winddance, etc all within 2-2.5 hours away

Outside of the ones you mentioned, the answer is The Preserve

If you’re looking for a solid public muni in good shape within 90 minutes look no further than Joe Bart.

the Island is in good shape, minus the bunkers(just don't hit in them). They are punching the greens on the 23rd & 24th.

True. Had been hearing this. Haven’t been in 10 -12 yrs because it hasn’t been worth it. Went a couple weeks ago just to see if the rumors were true, and it was prime. Will be going again
