Me and a couple buddies of mine want to play at a decent golf course in the Baton Rouge area. Anyone have any suggestions? Don't really care about the difficulty or even the price, I just to play somewhere that looks nice.

Beaver Creek is in great condition. The Island also isnt bad but plays tougher. The Bluffs has some great views but might not be in the best of shape green wise

The Bluffs just got flooded, so I'm not even sure about their conditioning. Before the flood, it was OK, but nothing to write home about. But still best layout around.

How far are you willing to drive?

In BR- Santa Maria. That is the only decent course you can get on that is actually in town.

Outside of BR- Carter Plantation, The Island, Beaver Creek. All are similarish distances from town, depending on what part of town you're in.

Man, BR golf is depressing.

Greystone

It's in Denham but usually great shape and great greens.

BREC and LSU pretty much keep the prices depressed so courses like the Island, the Bluffs, etc will never amount to anything.

Heck even Beaver Creek, Webb and Dumas could be better if they didn't waste resources on City Park and Clark.

I agree with Greystone. Fun and challenging course.

Utterly depressing

For a mid-sized southern city it’s embarrassing

Beaver Creek is in really good shape. No complaints and it’s come a good ways the last year or so. Glad it’s being taken care of.

Greystone has been in excellent condition for almost 8 months now.

The Island is okay. Not a disappointing place but it’s been in better shape.

Santa Maria gets too much play. And the bunkers are bad. (Beavers aren’t great either tbh)

Hell no to Copper Mill

Hell no to Webb

Hell no to Dumas
