Which one do y'all play? I've been back and forth on this over the years. I can hit my current 4i ok, but I always wonder if I could get more with a hybrid. I can think of 2 holes and that I play regularly where it would be used. Help golf board

Hybrids are for old people.

Yeah I know. I'm 33 and use a push cart so that counts as old right

I would hope not. I'm 31 and do the same. Figure I'm "old" when my 8i goes less than 160. Or driver goes less than 260 carry. That's when I'll know I'm "old."

(Btw I'm gaining distance each year) and considering taking a break from tournaments for the next couple of months and working on transition to get the driver to 280-290 carry and 10+ yards to each iron. Then just work on accuracy after that cause there's no need to go beyond it.

4i

I would consider a hybrid for 2-3i, but even then I would prefer an iron.

I carry a 4 iron and a 3 hybrid that's set open between a 2/3 iron loft, use both clubs a lot. I guess if you are full of NITRO then you only need driver and 8-putter.

That's why I need those wedges baw. Driver wedge all day, lol
I carry a 5w instead of a 3i, I think I'm Gng to get the 4h

Anybody know anything about the Srixon hybrids? Supposedly they have a low trajectory which would help me a bunch

When fit for my mizunos I had the option for 3 and 4h instead of irons and went with the hybrids. I hit them a lot more consistent. Doesn't hurt my ego at all.

I can't even imagine carrying a 4 iron or longer. Hybrid all the way.

27 with a 4 and 3 hybrid. I'm not a tour player and needed the 4 hybrid to fill my 190 yardage gap consistently.

So I went to golfballs.com and they had a used Srixon z h45 4 hybrid stiff shaft. The exact club I've been looking at. It looked like it had seen maybe 5 rounds. It cleaned up and looks brand new. I got it and a new grip on it for $65.

It was going consistently. 220-200 depending on the swing I put on it. I know it's inside on a monitor, but it felt sweet.

I have a 3 hybrid instead of a 4i. I'm 30. Don't care. Hit it about 210-215 carry. My 5i is 195-200. It fits my gap and is more forgiving.

Exactly why I got it. Even on the mat I hit 2/10good 4is I never hit a bad hybrid. It's a no brainer for me

I don't even understand why I hit hybrids better.

No other 23 yr olds finished as high as the one that doesn't carry any hybrids.
