Yakuza 0

Seems like this game is getting a lot of positive press. Sega is making a real effort to promote this franchise (relatively speaking) like they did back in the PS2 days.
I still haven't beaten Yakuza 5, but I'm playing through this now. I just finished chapter 1. In the screenshots, it doesn't look much different than the PS3 titles, but in motion, it looks quite nice. The game runs at a smooth 60 FPS as well. They've also made quite a few enhancements to the combat system. You have a lock on now that lets you focus on a single enemy as well as the ability to switch between multiple fighting styles.

Got mine in the mail, preordered but it went out on today.
Can't wait to check it out, never played any of the others before.

For those interested, this is a good starting point for anyone who hasn't played the series before.

Never played any of the Yakuza games before but this looks interesting. I'll pick it up once I finish the 70 other games I haven't finished yet.

Bought this today. Love it except for the damn camera...constantly fighting it to keep enemies centered
Gotta love the Japanese...I just did a side mission where I helped a school girl who was selling her panties on a street corner

Can you fail some of the substories? I did one for a lady who I befriended at a grocery store. She needed help figuring out a way to make their grocery store stand out from the other ones. I wanted so hard to tell her to "sell sofas over by the magazine rack," but I felt like that was the wrong answer and opted to have them be a place to drop of mail instead.
The one with the little boy and the video game is awesome also.

I'm not sure.
Wow there's pretty much too much to do in this game. I'm insanely addicted to racing the RC cars and running my own Cabernet. I'm concerned about how much time I've spent actually dressing up my girls in the club
I've all but stopped bothering with the story at this point and it's actually really good.

How to you recruit new girls to the club and/or buy new lots for the real estate minigame?
So far, I don't think the story is as good as Yakuza 4 (the only other one I've played all the way through), but it's keeping me interested. Majima's storyline in particular is good.

I didn't play any of the real estate stuff before a chapter change switched me to Majima. I'll need to progress the story to get back to it. But, for the club you can get new girls in one of four ways that I know of:
1. Visit a shrine and exchange CP for girls. From the club (facing the entrance), go right (east) down the alley, follow it as it turns left and the shrine is on the immediate right by a t-intersection. There's a dude standing inside it. Ignore him. Walk slightly past him and you'll see a small altar. Press the appropriate button when the prompt pops up. Exchange CP. A menu pops up and you can L1/R1 to find where to get the girls.
2. Complete certain sub-missions. When you do, the girls will either ask directly or appear near your club asking to join as one of your hostesses. I don't know all the side missions this affects. I have an old granny on my roster
3. There are random girls just standing around throughout the city. I *think* they are all dressed in white. Find them. You'll have to buy them something from a high-end store (purse, jewelry, expensive clothing) to get them to join.
4. Acquire them from other clubs. Don't want to spoil it, but it happens automatically as your club grows.
