My assumption was that the xbone would basically just be a pass through. So when you say Snap TV, it would just bring up a screen where you could play your game, but also control your cable/satellite with its own remote. I don't see why that would be hard to do.
Now if they're sayings he kinetpct and this pass through would basically just take the programming and put it into its own guide and format, that seems like a cluster frick.

That is exactly what it is. However it currently can control your set top box similar to a universal remote.

The problem is that it is controlled basically the same way you do it with your IR remote. Therefore if the cable and satellite providers can lock out the Xbox one by simply forcing RF remotes to be used with their set top boxes.

I have a hopper box and my previous DTV DVR were already RF, and would need to support an IR interface for it to work with the Xbox one.

With no IR support you will be forced to change channels using your set top box remote only.

I seriously doubt the cable companies go through all of that.

Except you know it doesn't. I will still have snap and will still be able to receive all of my party invites and shite while watching TV.

You should read this article, so you can improve your incredibly uneducated opinion: LINK

Man i cannot wait til next Friday.

I'll be playing Ryse, 2K14, BF4, or Forza watching a basketball game on the side, and skyping with friends, while PS4 noobs try to figure out how to use party chat 8 years later.

so let's hold our breath on his brilliance for now.
