Just got ax Xbox 1 today and thought you could play the game immediately but it's requiring the game to download. It's been downloading all day, as of 7pm it's only at 88%. What's could be going in? We have U-verse internet.

Xbox Live has been in and out all day thanks to DDoS attacks. What game was it? Could be a larger than usual game coupled with the service being down.

Actually, less than 10 minutes for 88% isn't that bad.

Unless you meant 7 AM. That's pretty bad.

Xbox Live is the online service. You connect to live through your WiFi service. If I remember correctly that game actually didn't take that long for me to download. Maybe 10 minutes. Supposedly the DDoS has been taken care of so it should speed up shortly.

Be glad you aren't trying to download Halo:MCC. You'd probably be waiting for it to finish downloading into 2015

That would be like blaming the bucket for a the low pressure hose not spitting out water fast enough.

I may be able to help shed some light on this issue. As others have said yesterday was a mess due to all the DDoS that was going on, but there could be so much more going on here. All it would take are a few simple tests to figure out where your network bottleneck is. Uverse is currently sold in 4 variates depending on your market. 3 Mbps, 6 Mbps, 18 Mbps, and 45 Mbps. All of these are sold as "high speed" internet and called U-verse. If you have the 3 or the 6 you might as well give up now downloading games at any kind of reasonable pace. Even if you have the 18, which is total crap, it would take you about 6 hours to download a 45 GB game. U-verse is garbage that is marketed to low tech individuals as "high speed".

You recommend playing off a tethered cell phone, right?
