Will you buy a new college football game if it is made by EA?

I sorely miss college football games, but since they have been gone I don't know if I will buy it if EA brings it back. I really want to see 2k take a crack at it, but I know EA will likely buy an exclusive license if they are allowed to make them again. I can't support EA for making a mediocre game nor can I support them blocking competition to expose their mediocre game.

Yes because it would be the only one on current gen.

It's college football. The recruiting itself makes it so much better than Madden. I could spend hours recruiting and just simming seasons.

So how long has it been since you bought an EA game? Doesn't matter if sports or not.

That's business. You think 2K wouldn't grab exclusive rights if they could? Any studio wants exclusive rights not just EA.

At this point, I'd only want EA to do one. They have the model already in place for it to be a good game.

2k would take awhile to figure it all out, I'd think, but they would eventually take over NCAAF after the 3rd iteration or so.

I thought I was the only person that did that. I would love for 2K to make a game because the recruiting on College Hoops was fricking legit.

I bought the last college football and haven't played a video game since. When they announced the cancellation of the series I canceled my XBOX1 order that day

Not if its like the last few versions that over-complicated recruiting and had the world's slowest menus that had load times every fricking time you changed a screen.

I LOVED the recruiting aspects up until that shite started to happen. Spend an hour recruiting and it felt like 10-15 minutes of it would just be you waiting for the damn menus to load. It was so frustratingly tedious that I gave up on it and just let the computer do it for me.

Yea I love recruiting, but the points system on 14 fricking sucked. I would get beat out by the likes of ULM and ULL for recruits. Plus recruiting in the off-season was just a toss up of who you'd get to commit. frick the recruiting system in 14.

I would definitely buy the game if EA made it.

I would definitely buy the game if 2K Sports had rights.

I get where you're coming from. However, people in the past complained night and day about the recruiting aspect of the game not being very deep. I guess they can't please everyone

They should make in fun and simple like 2K did on the College Hoops series. I also liked the attribute of potential 2K had. You could get a 3* and he'd be beasting by the time he was a junior if he had high enough potential

Yup, and I was one of them

Before 14 it would take soooooo long to get done recruiting each and every week. From calling each and every prospect and then going through the options of finding his favorite pitch and hammering that down. So they decided to go with this point system in 14 to cut the time and I absolutely hated it. I wouldn't even be able to get a top rated punter out of my state pipeline without throwing 700 points at him. Ridiculous.

I used to play the dynasty mode a lot in the earlier versions. The last several years, I enjoyed having friends over every week and having small tournaments.

We would write all the teams down on separate small pieces of paper, all separated out in 4 groups sorted by rank (1-25, 26-whatever, etc...).

We would then have someone pick a random number out of a hat (1-4). That number determined which set of teams the two players up next would pick from. They would then each pick a team out of a hat from whatever tier group was randomly chosen.

It made it really interesting and fun, especially when you are playing against each other with Tier 4 teams at these shitty stadiums

Hate to derail the thread but I have never played a finer game than College Hoops 2k8. Many aspects of this game still put current gen sports games to shame.

I'll probably fire it back up pretty soon actually. I just found out a couple of years ago that they had medical redshirts on the game.

Also thought it was cool that you can recruit freshman through junior HS players, not just seniors. Players grow in HS, and even after they're on your team. I remember one season I had a freshman SF that was 6'7'' or so and had 3 pt range. By his senior year he'd grown to 6'11'' and I put him at C. He was unguardable.
