Why is my xbox one game not playing?

I put in Ghost and it just keeps bringing me back to the home menu. Any ideas?

This happened to me with BF4. Not sure why it happened, but I deleted and re-loaded the game and it was fine.

I restarted it. My controller won't navigate. It keeps saying for me to buy the game I'm trying to play when the disc is installed.

you warm boot it or cold boot it?
power it down for 2-3 minutes. let it completely restart. if still having the same issues.
call microsoft, complain, and they'll be sending you a new controller or whatever and likely a free game download for your troubles.

When the game is installed or in the dvd drive?
I know on 360 you have to install and have the disc in the tray. Sounds like a dumb question but just make sure your disc is in the tray

I was told in a thread the other day (after someone was loling b/c Xbone needed an app) that a PC requires zero drivers or patches/updates apparently.
I had no idea. Maybe I can inform my company and I won't have to worry about keeping my servers up to date anymore.

They could have been referring to that one specific application, but the simple fact that a PCer is laughing b/c a console requires an update of any kind was a bit ironic IMO

I'll update java more in a month on my PC than my Xbox will require an update in a year

Keep in mind it's still fairly new. Most consoles take a little patching right after launch. As someone else suggested, you could probably contact MS and complain enough to get your issue fixed plus a free game code
