The intro area.

When I find a hard and rewarding game to play in this era of auto-aim FPS and hand-holdy GPS map RPG's, it's appreciated quickly.

Initially, Sen's Fortress and the Iron Golem. What I love most is that it has heart, it's not a typical fantasy story with dull characters - most of them seem ripped from an Ingmar Bergman film. All of the characters are sad, imperfect people looking for answers or a way to stop the inevitable. The game also has doesnt get enough credit for its sense of humor.

Ash Lake and The Painted World. Two of the most interesting areas in the history of gaming.

After watching the quicklook on Giant Bomb. I was also coming from having played and loved Demons Souls. I had a good idea about what I was in for.

Its the only truly dark fantasy on the market. Not just horror and blood, but down to its very core its sad, hopeless, and lost. And I love it.

The storytelling in Dark Souls makes Diablo 3 seem like a Saturday morning cartoon.

It's that seemingly rare game that nails atmosphere and immersion.

Ash lake is wild. Look at all the tree trunks.

Could each tree contain it's own Lordran? How far does it go? How ancient is this friendly dragon. How has it withstood corruption.

That's the beauty of the lore. I haven't seen lore like that in a game since.

Not a fan. Game never grabbed me. If the reviews are good for 3 I may try to do the deal where you get 1 for free with BC.

Was another thread for a 5 year old game REALLY necessary?

It's really getting out of hand.

We all know who's to blame...

It matters when there's a new thread on it almost every day.

Did anyone actually play Demon's Souls on PS3? I own it but never got too far.. much like Dark Souls on PC. I can't beat that damn first boss on the bridge.

I remember my old roommate first getting and telling me "come look at this, I'm just walking, and this flower killed me, THIS IS THE BEST!!!!"

I did like being able to click blood splatters and seeing how other people died. That was pretty neat.
