What was the consensus on Rory PGA Tour?

The game is decent, not worth the $60 right now. I have had it since launch and only played it a handful of time. I find myself playing Rocket League more(free on PSN), but they will start releasing DLCs soon and have two scheduled courses to be available within the next month.

It's golf.

How good could it possibly be? Same thing every year.

I hadn't played the PGA Tour games since 2003-09 (although I used to play them religiously) and I think the gameplay is the best of any of the games in the series I've played but everything else about the game sucks. The course list is so small I don't know how they can put together a somewhat realistic season calendar on career mode and the game lacks any engaging game modes outside of standard play. Also the character models of all of the IRL golfers appear to be out of the uncanny valley.

Oddly enough, as much as I loved the gameplay, I'd say they need to add a decent amount of additional content in all areas to make it worth $30, let alone $60. It was pretty fun to play a couple rounds but after that the experience feels extremely hollow as the real point of most licensed sports games is the enjoyment of the "licensed" part rather than the "game" part.

It's worth $25. They don't plan on releasing this annually so it'll have a good couple years of content when it's all said and done. I think they've already released one free course since the initial release.
