So let me clarify my feelings about DA2...
The story is very shallow up to this point. The sidequests are just random. They don't add anything to the world. The environments are drab and frequently reused. The characters are shallow. But Varric is awesome.
The combat is the only redeeming feature, and it falls short due to the absent tactical view.
