PC and WiiU for the Ninty exclusives.
Might consider getting a PS4, will have to wait and see.

Probably won't ever pick up the U, and I hate that I'll miss out on two Zelda titles in a row.

As for exclusives, the Xbox exclusives don't really interest me anymore.
I've lost interest in Halo after the hackjob they did with the MP in Halo 4 and although I loved the Gears of War trilogy, I'm not interested in the new games they've come out with.
On the other hand, I've realized over the years that PS exclusives FAR outshine Xbox exclusives.
Heavy Rain
BEYOND: Two Souls
The Last of Us
Uncharted
Resistance
Now, if only they would create a controller that wasn't for people with tiny hands and put the joysticks in places that actually make sense ergonomically.

OK Taylor convinced me with that sound argument that I can now choose which system even though the Xbox announcement is still 19 days away.
I still choose PC

Besides halo (which is a downhill franchise IMO) I barely touch my 360 anymore.
Unless they absolutely wow me when they announce, I am leaning heavily towards PS4.
PSN will most likely be on the same playing field as XBL and the exclusives will still probably be non-existent on the 720.

yea, this. I pick my PC and my PS3.
if I'm forced to choose, probably PS4 because I'm so used to the playstation format.

Rumor: Respawn's First Game May Be A Next-Gen Xbox Exclusive
quote:
Kotaku's sources also reveal some tidbits on the game development front for the next-generation Xbox. Microsoft is working hard to grabbing exclusive games for the next-gen Xbox, to make up for Microsoft's lack of internal studios compared to competitors like Nintendo and Sony.
Looks like Xbox is just going to buy the rights to games instead of constantly financing studios. I said this a few weeks ago. Seems like a lot less of a gamble.

yea this really makes me want to buy the xbox now

Xbox has always focused on multiplayer exclusives and has the best multiplayer exclusives in the industry. They know what drives their business. Instead of financing studios constantly why not just go out and buy great multiplayer games?

What a fresh thread topic. I'm sure many well informed and rational posts will be made.

Looks like the rumor originated on Kotaku, which also mentioned (in the same article)...
quote:
A reliable source—one who was not part of our reporting about the Respawn game—tells us that Microsoft is as much as six months behind in producing content for the new console, despite an expected late-2013 launch. Another tells us that Microsoft recently cancelled several internal next-gen projects because they were not coming together as hoped. These sources have told us that, comparatively, Sony is in better shape and further along with hardware and software development for PlayStation 4.

people are really saying ps4 over Infinty for the exclusives?? Without knowing a single one....

I'm surprisingly OK with that. If some projects can't come together why focus on it and waste resources? Pretty smart to cut loose things that are dragging you down and keeping you from moving forward.
Decisions like that is why MS/Xbox isn't on the verge of bankruptcy unlike someone else.

true, but I'm not the type to buy games because of multiplayer. that's really the least important factor to me. I prefer something with a great story and solo gameplay.
I'd rather play multiplayer games on my PC, especially FPS

they have other sources of revenue that nintendo doesn't have, if that's what you're referring to

I'm sure most companies operate in a similar manner.
The "6 months behind" on content was a bit startling to read, though.

If I'm using the past as a variable, it seems like PS has far outshined Xbox with its exclusives, and I've never owned a PS.
There are a lot of things that I'm gonna consider before I buy one or the other, but Xbox really needs to do some catching up when it comes to exclusives.
