Vita or 3DS

I have a lot of downtime at work. Enough where I feel I can justify getting a handheld. I've never owned one. I feel like I've missed a lot of cool things on both platforms. I'm not a huge fan of anime stuff though. Thoughts?

What do you want to play

Well, off the top of my head,
If I had a Vita: Metal Gear Solid games, the Uncharted Game, the Killzone game, Hotline Miami 2, Persona 4 (I don't like anime but it's not a hard rule and I've heard so much awesome stuff about that), maybe try those AC platformers.
With a 3DS: Zelda Zelda Zelda. Pokemon (I've never played a Pokemon game) Xenoblade, Monster Hunter 4, Fire Emblem.
I feel like I'm more drawn towards the Vita, but I feel like that's a bit of a red herring honestly. I feel like the 3DS would be completely new experiences.

Really they are both great. I like my 3ds for Zelda and that's about it. I like my vita a lot more but it's all about what you want to play. If you like indies, vita is getting those a lot too.

Nintendo 3DS and it's not even close.

I have both. 3DS is infinitely better.

Based on what? They offer different experiences

I have PS+. But then, I have a PS4 and I feel like the Vita is just an extension to that.
I feel like the 3DS is unique from the Wii U in that I will likely never see a lot of the 3DS games on wii U.

Maybe I should just wait until the next handheld device comes out. I can't choose. For both, there's only a handful of games that interest me and I don't know if I could justify $200 for something I'm not 100% on.

You aren't wrong with it being an extension of the ps4 in some ways. I like it for that and some of those games I prefer in handheld so it works well.

If you're on the fence, I'd hold off. Both have some great games to play, but they're only going to get cheaper and there's bound to be more valuable bundles announced.
I'd wait to see what they do.
