With the onslaught of VR devices coming it's cool to see through the perceptive lenses of a hypothetical 50 or so years from now when there could be people who are addicted to a life outside of their physical one.

A really cool video if you've got 8 minutes to spare:

Uncanny Valley

What are your thoughts on the future of VR? Is it the inevitable future of gaming and what positives and negatives will its emergence manifest into our world?

ETA: Singularity Hub also has an article dedicated to the potential positives of the future with VR: How virtual reality could unleash the greatest wave of creativity in human history

Isn't uncanny valley about how realistic humanoid AI looks to humans, rather than what that video is about? (VR?)

i went and got a job this week so ill have spare cash for a VR set in '16 :)

ETA:: As far as the article goes. I read the first few lines before I had my response. As soon as all our dreams are available on demand, people will stop actually pursuing them IRL. Could be the worst thing for society.
