I did. People hated on it so much leading up to the release, but the game looks beautiful.

The textures really do pop in HD. It's not as pretty as Windwaker HD, but they'd have to do a lot more work with this game than Windwaker to update the visuals.

Took me 4 hours to reach and complete the Forest Temple. I am glad that part is over.

That boss is actually somewhat hard. Not because of the actual boss, but because of the mechanics of the boomerang >.>

Or at least it was that way in the Wii version.

I think the controls in Zelda in general are clunky but he wasn't so bad. The game just has a really slow start. I finished Goron Mines this morning.

A lot of that has to do with the N64 controller only having one stick and a lot of those control traditions carried forward.

Does anyone give a damn about a remastered Twilight Princess? I just don't see what it really brings to the table. Just release it on the Virtual Console, and it's just as valuable. I would have rather have had a total reimagining of Majora's Mask, with double the masks and lands, but that wasn't going to happen due to the 3DS release. Hopefully after the next Zelda, they try to do something new with the 3 Day Cycle again.

This doesn't have motion controls which makes it a much better version

Just realized that's OML, so this conversation is going to go on 5 or 6 pages longer than it should.

OML already knows my position. He might still write a novel about it but I respect the passion. He was clutch in the Force awakens threads.

Then just release the GC version and mirror it.

I think that's unfair. It's the most different Zelda game. I can understand why people don't like it due to the tone, tension, and lack of dungeons, but the game took serious risks. It has almost nothing in common with its predecessor besides the game engine and basic controls. The story and characters are by far the greatest of any Zelda story.

Twilight Princess on the other hand pusses out in every way possible. It's clearly just an Ocarina of Time remake. Yes, it's a good game, but it brings nothing new to the table. Say what you will about Wind Waker and Skyward Sword, but those games clearly took risks, which I think is what Zelda should be all about.

Also pretend you've never played a Zelda game before: what would you think about that ending? You'd think it was an abortion. Ganondorf and Zelda really have nothing to do with the overall plot. The plot is between Midna and Zant, and I don't see why those two characters are necessary at all for the plot. They're just shoehorned in for the fanboys and to be more like Ocarina of Time. In the least they should have made Zelda the Ilia character, and if there was to be a twist villain, then it should have been Midna herself (although that causes gameplay problems after her betrayal).

Even though it aged well, the risks they took in that game were AWFUL. Just because a game takes risks doesn't mean it puts it on a pedestal above everything else. Kind of like Alabama's onside kick vs. Clemson. It works, he's a hero. It fails? He's the worst thing that ever happened to Alabama football.

Just saying.

If they could make it where it worked on normal controls then yes they should have done that. However Nintendo isn't really doing anything else so why the hell not?

lack of dungeons

One of the biggest reasons I don't like it or Wind Waker that much. I like dungeons.

I honestly don't remember it. I don't remember much about twilight princess other than thinking how much I hated motion controls.

At this point I'm ok with it. Everything has been a big drop off for me ever since Ocarina.

Fresh out of Ban-land and I just wanted to say I've enjoyed playing this game. The wolf parts are fun but I forgot how tedious the part about not leaving one of the twilight enemies alive could be

That's because Zelda is basically Assassins Creed only they don't release a new game every year. Same game in a new setting every iteration.

Twilight Princess is a fine game. I don't understand the comparisons to to OoT outside of the fact the game is set in Hyrule. It just had the unfortunate task of following a particularly memorable Legend of Zelda even though I think Twilight Princess fixes many of Windwaker's problems.

People who bash AC for not changing much, but excuse Zelda for also not really changing are somewhat hypocritical.
