For a casual gamer I have loved it, jump in and play for 30-45min. It prolly does lack depth, but for someone like me who likes to just jump in and run and gun for a bit I've enjoyed it

I'm not saying it's not enjoyable at moments. There is some fun novelty to it for a short while.
The laser speed is accurate to real life. I found some science behind the speed of laser/plasma vs kinetic rounds. The velocity is accurate and lasers are truthfully slower than kinetic rounds. I hovered around 4-7 place on large servers and got top spot a few times. My frustration is when you have a complete advantage over someone 30 yards away, you get a few shots off and they run around frantically, turn and two shot you.
When a hero is around, it's pretty fricking impossible to defend yourself against them. There is no way you will survive if Vader or Skywalker are after you with anything over 25% health.
I understand there isn't a wide range of weaponry in the Star Wars universe, but getting "pre-packaged" primaries seems so 1999. I'm sure in a galaxy far far away, they've figured out how to swap scoped on rifles for different uses.
It's also interesting how fast you look past the nice graphics and stop noticing them. For one of the game's biggest selling points to me, it became a non-factor quickly. It really only got me excited to see where the next Battlefield goes with graphics.

I feel the same way.
I got the game because I like Star Wars. It's fun running around for a little while, playing a quick 10 min or so match or two, and getting into a ship I've seen in the movies.
I have played better FPS style games before, but I won't call it the worst game I've played.

I bought BF4 a couple nights ago after getting frustrated with Battlefront. Haven't played multiplayer yet but I figure I'm gonna suck at first.

I couldn't get past 8 hours of content. Really boring and repetitive once you get beyond the star wars aspect of it.
Traded it in for JC3, finding myself running into the same problems.
The only 3 games that have held my attention in two years (for the consoles) were Metro Redux, Shadow of Mordor, and Witcher 3. That's beyond sad.

This is every online FPS for me now. They are fun for me for a few hours and then I never touch them again due to the repetition.
These days I usually play the beta and I am satisfied enough that I don't feel any urge to buy the game.

As much hate as CoD gets, it really treats its fanbase well and does tinker enough yearly to warrant a weekend with it.
Battlefield never gets old. No clue how, but there's an old school RTS style strategic feel to it that gives it its legs.
I still play RTCW and Quake 3 on a nightly basis, so what do i know. lol.

The areal combat maps are awesome. There's nothing like that out right now.
And it's alot of fun trying to get the hero upgrades.
I agree, it's shallow, but it's fun.
I'm hoping they see the interest and the money made and make a sequel that's great.
Also, the single player missions are alot of fun if you have a friend playing with you.

I really wish an RPG team would work with an FPS team and make a call of duty/ battlefield type FPS that had deep character customization and development.

The majority of the time is spent shooting down AI. Mixed with overly simplistic flight controls makes this boring in 15 minutes. You must have never played the Battlefield series and flown some insanely fun dog fights.

When you say trying to get the hero upgrades, do you mean hovering over their spawn in hopes of snagging it before the other guy who is doing the same thing?

Singleplayer......friend playing with you.....you must not understand what the word single means.

Yea the Death Star can instantly blow up Alduron by laser when the planet is light years away, but rebels have to lead stormtroopers when shooting lasers from 20 yards away
