Anyone seen reviews or get down with games like this?

I saw a few reviews yesterday after forgetting about this one...and it looks pretty fun.

Here's the aggregate review thread from Reddit. I'm pretty on the fence about this given Stellaris and Overwatch.

I'm thinking of picking this up over Overwatch but who knows?

Stellaris is undercooked and will need some DLC love to reach an epic level.

I loved Overwatch and can see me picking that up eventually, but is number 3 on the list this summer.

Preloaded Warhammer and cannot wait.

I agree.

As for Warhammer, I'm sure the battles look great but how shitty is the grand strategy portion?

It looks as true to the table top as real time games can get. But the only mediocre gameplay TOTAL WAR has put out IMO is ETW (and I have hundred of hours in that)

Most of us Warhammer fans are upset about the lack of factions

I need to get a new PC.

Can't even play this.

No Man's sky is on the top of my list, and if the 1.2 patch fixes The Division, I'll be set for the summer between those two.

What was your opinion on Rome II? I realize they fixed it, but it looked like total shite at launch.

Every review I have read says they have stripped the strategy portion of the game to a very simple version.

All war all the time and given total wars serious issues on the strategic side over their past 3 or 4 games, that probably isn't a bad thing.

Total War's grand strategy has been way behind Paradox and Civ for a long time. Probably a good thing to just ditch it.

I agree Stellaris needs some more content, but I'm really wishy washy on spending another set of cash on a game to compete with a game I already bought.

I'm leaning hard to picking it up. Watching gameplay really makes me want to play it.

So I bought this over Overwatch. Played it a bit this morning. For super early first impressions, the presentation feels a bit bare bones compared to previous titles. There is no grand campaign, but the factions all play very differently from one another as I understand it at least.

Not to say the graphics look bad (they look on par with Total War Rome 2 and Attilla), but CA has to be worse than Ubisoft when it comes to screenshots looking better than the actual game. I do not like the engine they use niw, but this is probably the smoothest a Total War game has run out if the box.

Hero units are a cool twist on the total war formula where you're encouraged to bring them into battle.

Some weird glitches with Nvidia cards. UI flickers with Vsync turned on

I played a bit last night.

So far I like it, the animations are top notch (fighting the green skins watching them pick up my troops and toss them around was cool)and fun to watch if you take the time during the battles.

I love the heroes on the battlefield.

I found the graphics somewhat bland but that could be my rig as it's no longer a topic notch graphic PC.

I am having a hard time getting use to the strategic map mostly where things are as it is rather different from past titles.

It also feels somewhat bare bones, though I'm still early in my empire campaign. I knew they had taken down the strategy a notch and you can feel it.

The one thing I have noticed is other "countries" are making diplomatic efforts towards me. I don't believe I have ever seen that in a Total war game, at least not in the volume of so many different countries.

Good stuff so far, probably going to play the hell out of it.

The map is super laggy but I don't have much issues in-game. I wiped out the rebel faction, but I'm hemorrhaging money. As much as I love these games, I suck at them.

I used cheat codes in Medieval 2 to to conquer Europe with the Papal States, so I have no idea how to play these games

Don't forget that Hearts of Iron 4 is just in a week. That and Ageod's Napoleon game are my next two purchases( though the ageod one scares me, talk about micromanagement)

HOI3 was pretty weak at first so I will wait for a bit on that one....had not heard of Napoleon...must investigate further.

Wars of Napoleon is its name. I'll admit, the Ageod games aren't for everyone. They're very low budget and can be a bit buggy. But I get a lot of satisfaction out of them. Every game is a struggle. Every victory is well earned and every defeat is soul crushing (because it will be like an hour before you can replace those forces).

This one hasn't gotten great reviews on steam but I'm more than willing to give it a go.

Just had a solitary orc hero unit declare war, attacking my main army. Killed him with ranged units before he was even close enough to attack any of my troops. Wiped out the faction
