I assume when people say plasma rifle, they are referring to the plasma carbine? If so, it does feel like it does more damage even if it actually doesn't

Thing is you can charge your shots.

I’m using the plasma rifle and it has made the game so much easier lol.

I have a plasma carbine as well, but I haven’t even tried it yet.

Plasma + Sam = over powered.

I avoided using plasma because it wrecked anything. I have needed plasma on Monarch. I used Sam for a bit but he makes things way too easy so I won't be using him anymore.

lots of butthurt on reddit about how the game becomes a joke after the first world. may wait and hope that they rebalance the difficulty. i need somewhat of a challenge to be fully engaged. I did notice that the speech and skill checks were woefully easy thus far

I struggled with combat early on (probably because my first instinct is to wander off the main path in these types of games, so I may have been facing higher level enemies), but as soon as I got the first companion + assault rifle with enough ammo, it's been fairly easy going.

I've only missed out on one speech skill check so far, but I put a lot of points into that.

Biggest problem so far is that there's a million things I want to lock pick, but I lack the proper number of mag-whatevers to do so.

If you're not into meelee combat, I'd recommend lowering your strength when you create your character. There's a very early opportunity to at a +50kg carry capacity skill in the game, and that's been more than enough for me so far.

I've really enjoyed the experience so far, and I'm perfectly fine with the size of the first world. It's less linear than I thought it would be.

On normal, it is too easy.

Playing Supernova it is pretty tough keeping your companions alive. And companion death is permanent on Supernova. Well, at least until you get a perk around level 20.

If you need a tough game, Supernova is probably the only way you will enjoy the game. And never use Sam as a companion.

And you can't save scum much on Supernova because you can only save the game when you sleep in the bed on your ship.

Lots of folks are going to find the game too easy on any level and ammo is everywhere. This isn't a survival game. No need to hoard ammo. Blaze away. Ammo is everywhere.

My companions die so easily but I don't have too many issues.

I'm on Hard, wont do supernova. sounds more annoying than anything. people online are saying hte combat just becoems really easy once you level up a few times and that its pretty much impossible to miss skill/speech checks. ill try to limit my companion use so that it's not too easy

and yes, ive noticed there is a TON of ammo lol. definitely wont run out

Most skill checks are easily passed if you focus on those skills. If someone tried to build a jack of all trades, they might fail the checks. I hate missing skill checks so I have focused more on persuade /lockpick /engineering. With gear buffs, I am over 100 in lockpick and engineering.

You haven't even gotten to the ammo yet. It is everywhere once you head to Monarch. I went from 1k to 4k ammo pretty quickly on Monarch.

I think monster damage probably needs to be raised / ammo needs to be cut. And I don't mind playing easy games. This one is a little too easy.

I wouldn't think of playing Nova. I hate limited saves. Also the drinking water and eating would be annoying. Permanent companion death stinks.

I've already gotten my money from the game. I think a few patched difficulty settings would make it a much better game.

Once you get to the required 50pt threshold, is there any reason to put skill points into more than one of persuade/lie/threaten?

Started off with this, but now I’m mostly putting points in firearms and sneak/locks/science/engineering, etc.

I encountered a few situations where I couldn’t select a conversation option due to not having enough points.

Started on hard today.

Died 3-4 times when fighting that first group of enemies.

Took a minute to figure out the gunplay.

Once you do it gets much easier. Especially after you start exploring other planets.

I used the BoS knight voiced by Felicia Day. Mostly because I like listening to Felicia Day.
