The Last of Us, a sequel?

I have to go with Carson.

It's a tremendous story. I enjoy the open-ending(ness) of how Ellie and Joel's potential conflict is (un)resolved. I really don't want to see a sequel to that story. Some stories are better left untold.

However, I think there are plenty of other stories to tell in TLOU universe as we know it. I would have loved a DLC of Ish's tale (I thought the DLC of Ellie's pre-story sucked), but looking forward...Joel's story between --SPOILER BELOW---

















the death of Sarah and 20 years later would be cool to explore. Or the story of the Fireflies' birth. Or a completely different narrative involving trying to rebuild a community a la Tommy at the power plant. Or maybe even a story involving being hunters would be cool. There's plenty to explore aside from Ellie and Joel.

TLoU is lightning in a bottle, and ND's chances of replicating that magic is slim to none. Move on.

Can't argue with that. TLOU story was gold.

Haven't played the game, ,but the story was incredible.

I still have it on my PS4, but I played 3-4 hours into the story a while back and hit a gamebreaking bug that corrupted my save and I won't ever play it again .


I watched a guy play it on Youtube and I definitely wouldn't mind some other stories from this world, but I'd rather they leave this particular story alone.

that's fine, just hope it has nothing to do with joel & ellie. as jombie said, there's just no way they can recreate the magic


as an aside, last year I had a septoplasty to repair broken nose (dont do it if youre ever considering) and i had to stay at my parents' for a week or so. played Dark Souls 2 to pass the time. my sister was in for the summer and served as my caretaker (she kicked arse), but said that DS2 wasnt fun for her to watch. shes a Chi O at TCU and has 0 interest in games and the like. i put in Last of Us Remastered and told her to play. she got fricking hooked and couldn't put it down. i had to play some of the tougher fights for her whilst fricked up on pain pills bc she had never played a game before and couldnt get used to it, but she beat it.

now, every time we go to my parents, I bring my PS4 and we play through it. shes got it down to a science now We were in the midst of a Grounded playthrough on last visit but didn't get to finish.

You know what, I like what you're saying. So often something is forced. And I did like the "twist"/open-endedness. Much like The Lady and the Tiger (short story we read in high school). And without harming the crux of the story (Joel and Ellie), there are MANY stories to cover, like the brothers you run into. I'd like to see their story leading up to before they die.

But I was aware of some quasi-leaks. I guess my implied question was more about whether anyone could confirm anything. I think, if done right, Joel and Ellie wouldn't be ruined. And besides, I'd like to see if/how the cure is found or society moves on. Worst case, I could do some fanfic or something haha.

The remastered version on PS4 is on sale this week for $10. I assume its worth it?
