A relatively minor service outage is a fricking cataclysm? Okay.
I had fun playing the campaigns while waiting for the issue to be resolved like a rational adult.
I will concede that I don't live and breathe competitive multiplayer like some that post here. Maybe that gives you cause for a temper tantrum.

The only halo I've ever played is mp. It's the only reason I bought this game. I know assholes who took off work, bought the game, and ate addys thinking they'd be playing all nite . 2 weeks later-- still nothing.
I'm not whining, but don't sugar coat it. I do think it's comical at this point though.

Get off your high horse. If you'd rather play the campaign fine, but that doesn't make the people that prefer matchmaking beneath you.
And as I said in my original rant about this game, Halo 2 was made great by the matchmaking as it revolutionized online gaming. To have this component unplayable is stupid as many people are gonna get the game just for it.
frick 343 and all the apoplogists saying how great the campaign or customs are. I bought the game to play matchmaking so I'm gonna be pissed when it doesn't fricking work.

To me the campaigns feel very dated, or at least Halo 2 did. I didn't finish before I got my money back but I remember loving the campaign when I was a kid.

The remastered Halo 2 campaign is what has made the purchase worth it for me so far

As a day one purchaser of this game, it is frustrating to know that you can have a launch where the bread and butter of a game doesn't function and everyone really downplays it out of fanboyism.
I'm as big of a Halo fan as anyone on this site, but I have not been able to touch multiplayer with any sort of consistent results. This isn't some server issues that MS and 343 are sorting out due to popularity and number of gamers...the matchmaking is broken. Its not some minor service outage.
Ignoring this type of stuff will only lengthen the leash we give them game developers.

I strongly advise all of you to never buy day one again.
No issues day one is becoming an extreme outlier. Just saying.

Alright guys, I need some help. I was never very good at Halo back in the day (and never had a 360 so never played halo past halo 2s campaign). Got the Xbone though, and was excited about getting to play the full series, and also try my hand at multiplayer.
Too bad i fricking suck at multiplayer, and I cant even begin to have fun online. What the hell is it about playing this game that I dont get? Anybody care to explain to me the fundamental way to get kills and avoid being killed in halo. Sounds like a stupid question, but when I shoot someone 5 times in the back with the battle rifle, and they dont die, turn a corner, and cone back and kill me with 2 shots, I am just lost.
I have no idea how to play this shite, and am wishing I never even tried. Sorry for all the bitching, but does anyone have advice? Thanks in advance.

Yeahvi haven't even tried matchmaking in a few days, but there is so much more to do with the campaigns. Ive gone through all on legendary found most terminals and skulls and only have about half of the achievements.
I would be pissed if they dont have mp sorted out in a few day when im ready to play it though.
I heard through a friend of a friend who works at Microsoft not 343, but he said they knew 2 weeks before releasing that there was going to be this issue.
I guess every release now has to have some kind oof problem

BR you've got to get head shots for it to be effective.
Chunk grenades to take down the enemies shield. You pick up a ton and can hold 4 of each type so don't worry about wasting them.
