I thoroughly think that the Switch is about to break the record certainly for Nintendo, and possibly the PS2. The portability factor with that system going to be huge. And we have yet to get Smash, Pokémon, Metroid, and Fire Emblem. And with both Mario and Zelda being released this early in the Switch's lifespan, I'd bet cash we're getting sequels to them.

I'm sorry but I think you guys over hype the portability factor of this system. For me its not comfortable to play in handheld mode. The 3DS is comfortable for me, the controls layout feel great.

Well, travel a couple of times a month and then get back to me on this. I do think the under 45 business professionals will be all over this shite.

They all are rational damn posters for the most part. Just the overselling of the Switch is a little silly.

Besides overselling the portability, the fanboys also over sell the longivity of the console. Take the watered Skyrim(2012 game) and the new NBA 2K18 which looks like something from PS3/360 era.

3rd parties are coming to the Switch now but they will start to back off. We need a "dock dGPU" or another re-release.

..but this is a thread about Mario Odyssey which looks fckking awesome. Can't wait.

Are you shitting me? 155 million units sold?

Look, the Switch is a cool thing and I'd love to have one, but once they announced that it outsold a 4 year old machine, I knew this was coming.

Yeah that is crazy.

Not sure some of them understand what western teens really enjoy playing.

You can't become a Twitch star easily on Nintendo titles. Sorry.

Completely disagree, it's one of the main reasons I bought it.

My only experience with the switch has either been with the joycons or the pro controller. I didn't like my time with the Wii U tablet at all, hands too far apart, and I'm not sure the switch would feel any better.

Then why do you doubt it?

You can still bring your joycon holder and put it on the tray table in front of you.

Who cares? The portability is all that matters. Graphics are ridiculously overrated in today's gaming. Zelda is fricking gorgeous regardless and Metroid Prime's graphics still hold up after a decade and a half. If Nintendo follows Sony and Microsoft into those waters, they'll drown. Make the studios come to the conclusion that the graphics matter less than the portability factor. I'll be shocked if the South Park games and Cuphead aren't released on the Switch.

I was going to say all of them, but I looked it up and it was higher than I thought. I was thinking 120 million, but with the DS line now out of the competition (or at least it will be soon), I think that will also increase the number of people buying the Switch. I think it's possible but probably not likely.

Most ppl in the Western world, even kids/teens do not play games this way.

Maybe its just me but kids are addicted to simple phone games while on mobile, not the 3DS. We are addicted to the 3DS because it is a Pokemon machine for us and we are used to playing games in this format pre-iPhone.

Let us talk about this in another thread. It is Mario Odyssey release night!

Except how long are developers going to want to keep developing watered down versions of their games? The portability is a nice feature, but they sacrificed power because of it and it can't even handle most 3rd party games that are releasing now, much less years down the road. Zelda and Mario are champs, but they can't and won't release those titles on a yearly basis. Those reasons themselves are why they won't touch any Sony console as far as sales.

In a few years, it's pretty much going to be higher end 3DS. And if all you really want is their 1st party and whatever indie games they throw your way, then it's perfectly fine.

Sorry but you are over hyping the mobile part. We don't live in Japan and all kids have smart phones now.

They do not need to go head to head with Sony/MS but they could release a product which can handle future game engine upgrades. That is a 2014 SoC in the handheld.
