Anyone else playing this? Beautiful underwater game.
This is the first early release game that I've actually enjoyed playing. Played all weekend so my $20 was well spent.
The game has no real story or campaign. Just a survival game. You crash on a water planet and need to gather resources and build crap. No guns so you need to avoid the killer beasts from the deep. Or run.
Pros = Really beautiful game. Tons of resources. No grinding or minimal grinding. Really spooky at times.
Cons = Choppy frame rate. Only bothersome when trying to grab some of the fast fish.
Super Cons = After about 15 hours, the game will crash nonstop. There is a temporary fix than involves deleting the cache file. This is almost a cheat too because deleting the cache causes the resources to all be reset.
Overall I'm impressed. Hope they plan to keep adding on to the game.

Fun game I have about 15 hours in it (not lock up problem) but the crafting requirements and finding them are challenging.

havent played the updated version.
But yeah it is actually a great time just swimming around in the reefs and running from the big fish in the seaweed patches lol

I've watched a lot of markiplier's videos of it. I was going to wait until it was a little later in development before jumping in. I will probably get it soon.

Most of the good ones are a bit over the top. You get used to it and making a dull game seem interesting requires a bit of high energy.
Case in point, Raft is fairly dull but Jacksepticeye made it seem exciting. Once you get over the screaming some of these guys are pretty good.

I've seen quite a few videos on it. First saw it when it was really new, then watched a series with Sips, and now watching a quick playing by Will Strife.
Will Strife is just doing a basic walk-through, showing how to do things (and how to find things) with a lot of the finding resources cut out. It looks like Strife is on the newest updates but he has said it's the buggiest game he's ever dealt with. Hopefully the devs can knock out some of the problems down since I seem to recall that they want to finish the game before this summer.
Sips play through was more thorough but was in an older versions so, it's probably not as relevant anymore (just for entertainment).

He must be lucky and he hasn't played many buggy games because the game is 100% playable. Over the years, I've played games that simply didn't work because of bugs.
The only real bad framerate issues are when trying to catch fast fish as the come towards you. the screen glitches when moving fast towards another fast moving fish coming at you.
Also, the biggest bug would be the cache crash which happens around hour 15.
Other than that, I had no issues.
For $20 I think the game is good. If they expect to ramp up that price, they will need to add a good deal of additional content along with a minimap feature. Base building needs to be simplified a bit or fixed to work somewhat better. Having said that, there are plenty vids of people who built insane underwater bases, so I probably just need to learn how to do things a bit better.
After about 25 hours of play, there are still areas I haven't explored. Haven't gone below the 200meter depth and I've seen one really creepy dude walking below that depth.

I've been contemplating buying this for a long time, especially now that I've played through Abzu.
I never pull the trigger though.

Apparently building your underwater base with lots of windows is frowned upon. I had about 8 hull breaches, base filled up with water and I died while trying to figure out how to fix everything.

So is this Minecraft but under water essentially?

This game has me once again thinking about VR because a beautiful exploration survival game is perfect for VR and the game is VR ready.

Spent some time base building and farming a bit.
