Anyone pick up SF6 over the weekend?

The launch has been great so far, and the game looks like it has a load of content which is great to see.

I feel like an old frick because I remember when SF2, SF2CE, SF2 Turbo, and SSF2 came out.

I swear Capcom didn’t learn how to count to three for over a decade.

I’m more of a MK player myself but I downloaded it and love it.

This game fricking sucks

Worst story/arcade mode I've ever seen in any street fighter

You don't even have a boss? Wtf..Wish I could get my money back.

Sounds like you're expecting arcade to be the story when they mainly focused on the world tour mode to be that. I haven't got around to playing that mode myself yet however, but I've heard good things about that mode so far.

Hmm. I mean yeah the arcade version is more geared towards characters and their specific journeys rather than aimed at a boss. The story is in the World Tour.

If you’re going in expecting a Mortal Kombat level story mode then you’re playing the wrong fighting game franchise This is my first ever Street Fighter and I’m loving it. At least the gameplay and online/Battle Hub. Game is single handedly making me want to go back and discover the lore behind the entire franchise

Not mine..

I go way back with it, and part 4 was its best.

Eta

And frick Luke, and how they had ryu trying to put him over. game is missing a lot of characters that would help it..and you're right it's no mortal kombat. Sf6 reminds me of WCW in 2000.

I'm definitely glad they separated the rank system on a character basis so you can properly go through ranked with each character and learn the character. An excellent quality of life missing from a lot of fighters.
I'm also glad the combo trials are mainly practical, real examples that actually apply rather than wacky impractical shite

Easily the best in the series:

Modern controls prioritize skill/reaction time and learning the characters over mechanics, making it super accessible for everyone. Even my wife and brother in law are into the game because of it.

An actual great story mode.

All the characters are pretty balanced.

Online is great.

Probably the best SF since 3rd strike honestly.

Edit: World tour is story mode. Anyone bitching about that and hasn't tried it out is out of their mind. It's basically the sequel to Final Fight we've never gotten since we were kids. Fantastic stuff.

I've been very impressed with the game over time especially with how good the mechanics feel overall.

I'm a pretty big fan of the drive system and how meter is handled in general. The characters have all felt fun to me so far as well even though I've primarily been playing Ken.

The online so far feels very well done, which is essential for FGs today.

Most pros are switching to modern vs classic as well. It leads to a better understanding of play and removes the barrier of entry for 1 frame techs that were needed to pull off most combos.

Brilliant move on capcoms part.

Looks pretty good, but I'm not into the idea of all of these brand new characters. For the most part the entire canon has in some way involved basically the same set of fighters for decades. Everyone in 5 has some kind of storyline association or relation to the original 8 in SF2 somehow. It's like who are these people?

To be fair, this happened with the release of Alpha 1 and SF3. They didn't really fill out the roster for both games until alpha 3 or third strike.

Been playing a lot lately. I never got onto SfV after playing 4 a good bit.

I like the world tour in that it gets you familiar with the mechanics and the characters, story is only mildly entertaining

I shifted from Ken to gief
