You have to be on your toes when the game starts. And you have to maze when you have a good foundation, not early on.

Typically, depending on how old the game is and how well it was received.

I think this is the case for those of us that have been on there for more than a couple of years. Your first few sales you get all the old stuff that you will never play but was just too damn cheap. From then on if you are like me you buy the new games you want at or near release.
Sites like GMG don't help Steam when you can get games 10-20% off at or near release.
