Steam Holiday sale to start today?

A couple of websites have guessed at this.
I read they are doing away with the flash sales and offering the deepest discount of the given game for the entirety of the sale.
What's bad about that is not all developers want to give out their game that cheap for that long.

I think it's too early for the holiday sale. Should be late Dec/Jan when I have Christmas gift money to burn. Now is the time of year when I'm spending money on everyone else.

It's a crap shoot, usually you will see the best prices during the Christmas sale so I would wait unless it's a good deal and as you said you want to play it before then.
