All server wipe at different times and intervals.
If it doesn't say when the last wipe was just join and ask in chat. I'm an admin on Survive Or Die it's pretty low pop (40ish) maybe try that one.

If not use Rust.io to search

What do you do as an Admin on a server?

-Help new players with building issues
-watch for hackers based on accusations
-maintain the server ensure it is running smoothly
-enforce our chat rules (no racism ect)
-we do admin ran events such as battles/CTF
-spectate raids try to spot if anyone is using an ESP of some sort to see thru walls/see items in bases while raiding
-enforce building rules that we have in place (no hidden loot rooms under foundations/no tool cupboards under foundations/no hiding boxes and other place-able items inside of rocks) Basically the game is in ALPHA there is glitches and we choose to not let players exploit them. Some servers allow it because it is how the game is.
-warn/kick/ban based on offense and how the player responds to broken rule

There are other things we do as well but that's the meat of it.
I also do a little bit of recording with the free cam and no clip features admins have.

All servers are different some have no rules some do. Our server we consider newb friendly this is why we help with building and try to keep the toxic chat out (we have a love for this game and want the overall player count to grow, so we like to help new comers). Official servers do not have active admins. Community servers, some have active admins, if they don't there's always a website to contact an admin. Some admins DO play on their servers but we choose not to because players will just say we cheat by spawning things in game instead of farming it. So to benefit our players and remove that worry we just do not play on the server. Simply just watch it. We normally have an admin on 15-24hrs in game the rest of the time we watch logs remotely away from the computer. Community server's are one bought and paid for by a private person where Official is ran by the developers. So when it comes to a community server, it's totally up to the owner what rules they would like to have.

I started solo on that server, 98% of my 1100+ hours is on that server with a group that i quickly joined. When i decided to break from rust (got tired of playing it) the owner asked me to help admin being I had the time there to know the rules and he trusted me.

My best advice to new comers who truly want to learn because they love it but are having a hard time

-join a group be it a farmer or it might sound bad... as a slave. These highly experienced groups will be tough on you at times but its funny and they will show you a-lot. Alot of times you'll be recruited once trusted to join them.

If you choose to solo it
-Watch you-tube building how too's
-low population fresh full wipe servers until you learn
-Watch rust for newbs on you tube (that alone will cover everything else)

It's ruthless, it's toxic, it's hard, it's fun, it's rust.

Good advice!

I seen someone in chat the other day trying to sell a slave. I thought it was just a joke or something!

Nope it's a common way to play. Alot of solos will do slaving here and there just to play in a large group. Often times rebel (try to) to cause chaos within the large group. Sometimes they just want for one wipe to live inside an elaborate base and be apart of something larger.

I believe Phadeo 82 on youtube did a video of one of the largest clans to ever play rust. CML let him do filming of the their whole slave system. Slave are actually given rooms inside the base, allowed weapons, and help on raids and defending to an extent. Often times used in barbaric games for Clan entertainment.

All clans do it different. What most of the time you'll have fun, if not cause chaos and leave

The whole slave thing has always been a mystery to me, after they have taken everything you have why would you want to spend your time playing a game being a slave? Reroll and start over.
