Not really. The missions tied indirectly to the saga, but it wasn't entirely story driven.

please, enlighten me on how great the "story" was...
look all battlefront was back then was battlefield with a star wars skin. that's all it was. all you played was conquest, had different classes that used different types of guns ect... so idk why everyone wants to bitch about it this time around. and hey its not a bad thing that its like that. we all loved it because it was star wars.

Its been confirmed that there is no story mode for the game. All multiplayer with an option to do the horde mode solo.
Personally im not gonna lose any sleep over them ditching story mode. You want the story go watch the movies. Games like Battlefield and Battlefront have always been about the multiplayer experience.

I had forgotten the BF series had story modes until some construction near my home knocked out the internet for a few days last year..
