I have an Xbox as well, so yeah, if that ends up being true, it's still a problem.

That emulator with all of the Game of the Year awards for Odyssey/BotW?

Additionally, at some point, any new console now will feel like an emulator for the early parts of it's release. Depending on the release, like if the PS5 will release in November or something, you'll see it get a late Madden release. You'll see the indie devs clamor to put whatever old games they can on the machine ASAP. And then you'll see backwards compatible releases start to happen.

The ability of storage and digital downloads has changed the game. No system is going to exist purely on new titles for the forseeable future. And we're most likely trending to technology where you boot up your system and you can play a large chunk of old games immediately. Heck, if game streaming ever becomes mainstream, the idea of an emulator will go away to just include "access to the ctalog," like music streaming.

Throw in the unique proposition of the Switch, and most of the indie games that I am catching up on from the Xbox, just make way more sense on the Switch.
