I never played the first one. Don't know anything about the game. Is it all multiplayer or does it have a campaign? Is anyone picking this up when it comes out?

The first one had a campaign. The games, based on the recent trailer are connected. I advise getting the first one and getting used to it cause the combat is a bit different than your average shooter obviously.

Also, either google it or go to game explain on YouTube and type in Squid Sister Stories.

There's this thing called Splatfests (that ended some time ago) that happen about every week or so where you take allegiance to a choice given to you by Callie or Marie of the Squid Sisters.

For example, hot dog vs hamburger would be the choices and you'd be asked when you got online to choose between the two. They would announce it later on in the week or something. I forgot because it's been so long since I played it.

But in the last Splatfest Marie WON, which ultimately ties into the plot of the new game. Not trying to spoil everything but the plot is really cute and fun and you'll have a blast with either game I'm sure. A lot of puns and tongue in cheek humor make the game super kid friendly as well.

So play the campaign as well if you're getting the first one. Good luck dude :) Believe it or not it's a post apocalyptic shooter

It will have a single player story/campaign. The first one had a small one, but it was a weakness. This one looks to be much better.

Day 1. And I suspect that I'll pretty much quit playing MK8 when it comes out. Splatoon is one of the most fun and competitive online multiplayer games. It gave me the same feeling as Team Fortress 2 and I preferred it over Overwatch.

The only problem is the ridiculously high skill level. It's a deceptively complex game, again, moreso than Overwatch. The Japanese love the game and they generally wreck shop, and it can be frustrating. Also, Nintendo doesn't necessarily do a super good job on online rankings, so you can get pulled into matches you have no business being in.

Also, get used to motion aiming. It's actually a much better method of control for joystick shooters.

If you've got or are a good sniper on your team....everyone is a lot better for it. Snipers are an absolute necessity in Splatoon. I mean it's that way in a lot of competitive shooters but especially Splatoon.

What I like about Splatoon is the very distinct push and retreat, push and retreat, sequence like a good football game. Snipers are essential, but so are rollers., and there's a groove that you can fall into with the match within those players.

I'm not saying other shooters don't have this but it's much more literal and obvious with the ink.

It's such a weird, great game. Nothing else like it.

I also tried the new loadouts with the Testfire and I was super impressed. The new Curling Puck Bomb is awesome.

God I loved Splatoon. Became an A+ player. I also launched a controller through a flat screen due to the shitty teaming algorithm they used in the past.

It's such a great game, but would be way better with ingame communication. Trying to read your team's mind is frustrating.

Yeesh, but yeah. I hope the eventual expanded audience on the Switch can help that. The Wii U had a very small dedicated audience, and lat in the life that was mostly highly skilled Splatoon players.

How we aren't friends IRL Freauxzen I'll never know. Don't think we've ever disagreed on something gaming wise.

We've probably called each other pricks, assholes, inbreds among other things on the main board but overall, gotta say you're s pretty cool guy.
