Not sure if I should post this on here, on the music board or on the tech board but... Should I connect my XBONE>(HDMI)>TV>(RCA)>DAC>(RCA)>speakers or XBONE>(optical)>DAC>(RCA)>Speakers?

Do you understand what a DAC is used for?

Seems like in the sequence you are putting analog signals into the DAC. Makes no sense a DAC is supposed to be a controlled environment where a digital signal gets converted to analog.

Does OP mean a recevier? Cause a DAC without power is kind of useless.

I vaguely understand what i'm talking about. The DAC I have is a Modi 2 uber which has a wall power supply. I just wasn't sure whether running the Xbox straight to the DAC or to the tv and then to the DAC was better. After some research, I've come to the conclusion that just using the optical from the Xbox to the DAC is the best option.

Yeah but you could have power over USB on some setups.

Makes no sense ethierm way in the progression.
