Anybody start a thread about the dude from Bungie being fired? If not, I'll go ahead and knock that out.

Good it's not really benefiting Sony since they went multi platform with FF and KH. That's the only thing they make that's worth anything.

Sony bought shares way back in 2000/2001 after the Final Fantasy movie bombed. Squaresoft was going to be bankrupt, so Sony helped out and then the company merged with Enix.

I'm surprised they choose to sell it, but it's not like they were doing anything with it. They were the third largest stock holder, but they didn't have any voting rights.

Trimming the fat.

Square Enix hasn't been a worthwhile investment.

They stopped being relevant post PSOne era.

this honestly isnt that big a deal at all. it only means that SOny is fixing to get a ton of money from someone who is buying the shares that sony is selling. it has no negative impact whatsoever on square enix.

It'd work super well, but I don't think Square will do that. It'll be multiplatform for sure.

That he's saying they sold their stock (while they did make a decent profit, it was a nice asset before sale), as it's a blip on the radar. It'll have no significant effect on the bottom line of the company.
