Now I haven't been this glued to my desktop in so long. I don't know how I've avoided such a great game. I'm new when it comes to Civ but my friend pulled out the peer pressure card and I caved (it wasn't hard to persuade me though). I started around 7pm last night. I played the tutorial for about 80 turns and I was hooked. I completely forgot it was a tutorial then remember that my progress didn't matter here so I jumped into single player and 120 turns later it was 2:30am.

Is it that good?

I remember when V came out, most things I read said IV was better in every way and I just stuck with it.

Hmm nice. Well I'll pencil that in for the steam sale.

Looks like Civ V gold pack has all of the DLC released so far with the exception of Brave New World which comes out next week.

May have to look into the gold pack upgrade on steam. If I don't have the dlc can I still play multi with those that do have it?

I thought people only played against the computer because of how long games are.

I got this game my last semester of college. For a week straight I literally ate, slept, and Civ V. It was glorious.

Felt like a crackhead though.

I need to get back on it. After awhile it becomes too much micro management for me. I'm more of a macro manager.

That is kind if funny considering Civ V is much more macro than previous iterations.

Maybe I'm too dumb for it! I liked the console version of Civ but it was too watered down.

There always is

But it was my first play and I had just riddled Warsaw with archers down to its last sliver of health and then the next turn it get a smidge more health back. Rinse and repeat about 10 turns later, some scouts I had put on automated 20 turns ago in BFE comes out of now where and just walks in and takes the city

I was a little pissed that I didn't know I had to walk in and take it on low health.

I know. I know. Master race problems.
