I played some version of Quake on the N64. I'm sure it wasn't the best, but we had fun.

If I didn't land it, I was crashing short of the carrier.

My first two games:

Here I am 17 years later, and these are still my two favorite franchises. Was a little concerned when Bethesda bought Fallout in 2005, but it's turned out alright.

Played a lot of those old Sierra games myself. Loved most of them.

This. PQ/LSL/KQ. My favorite was always Space Quest.

The Two Guys from Andromeda are working on a new space adventure game. Described as a spiritual successor to the Space Quest series.

Nope.

This is what I remember

Then it's probably an even earlier version, maybe even a Beta but I remember that map.

The map looks familiar, I admit, and I'm not saying that an earlier version, but I've never seen that hud before in a DoD game. I've tried to google some early DoD screenshots and can't come up with anything other than what I posted.

I think I remember seeing the second level once... but I may have made it up in a dream.

It does look a lot like the first Axis flag on Kalt. Really early version if it is that game.

Favorite map was Caen. Got sick of Avalanche. Glider was good fun as well.

From Google images:

It's definitely DoD, I remember those maps. It's just a very early version of the game, maybe even pre-Steam.

Looks kind of goofy, I guess

I did play it pre-steam, though. I bought the Half-Life pack with all the extra games, Team Fortress, Blue Shift, etc., and handed them out to friends. All you needed was one of those codes to download DoD and CS. So many hours wasted. Loved it.

Dude those original Omaha maps were perfect sniping grounds. Just lay in the water and the Axis could barely see you.

If you were Axis, that's all you needed to do until they broke through. I hated playing Allied on that one.
