ike i said about. it's pointless if you don't have a home theater system

I do, thats what I'm saying.

Right now I have hdmi running from my xbox to my TV then a red and white component cable from the TV to my stereo. That doesn't fix it because it still has the lag from the hdmi cable going through the TV.

What I was trying to see was how I could still have hdmi to the TV, but have those red and white component cables straight to my stereo. Which I don't think you can because in order to get any component parts, you have to plug that adapter thing in which covers the hdmi port.

I bet your lag is coming from the receiver instead of the hdmi. Saw a long thread on the ubisoft forum about it. They suggested either plugging straight in with a splitter but to make sure your receiver had a direct in mode with no processing. Mine doesn't have one but it's pretty old, about 10 years. The lag is definitely there though like you say, seems almost a second. Try turning surround off and just running stereo then playing around with compensation in game. I narrowed mine down when I can play through the TB headphones or tv speakers and lag is almost completely gone

Its actually not that bad in the middle of a song...I guess its not as noticeable when you're just trying to just hit notes. But that part where its basically free play in between while its loading I can definitely tell.

Hmmm I'll have to play around with that. Its not old at all, just got it less than a month ago.

You are familiar with Drop D tuning?

For some reason I was thinking I needed to drop all the strings. The game doesn't ask me to play the power chords. The single notes just don't sound right when I move from the bottom E string to the others.

watch this video and see if you are playing something similar....its not me playing but whoever it is got 98% on the combo arrangement. not sure why it sounds funny for you if you are tuned up correctly.

once mine started telling me the letters of what chord was coming up, it got a lot easier. i can play most of these songs already but have a hard time figuring out what rocksmith wants me to play.

He's playing power chords in that vid. I was actually playing single note, so it's hard to compare.

Apparently there is a glitch with the drop D tuning on the game. That's why I've been having so much trouble with the Soundgarden and Muse songs. Won't recognize the first few frets when I play them.

I know I'm refreshing an older thread, but I just got this and my fingers are killing me today. I played it for about 5 hours last night and it was a blast. My guitar that used to be collecting dust is now being used so I'm happy with the purchase. Anyone still playing this?

I still have it and have been thinking about picking it back up. I was pretty impatient with it though, I never really wanted to take the lessons and just tried to get by on previous experience. But once they started adding chords in I was messing up

It definitely has a learning curve for beginners like me. It's slightly frustrating but I'm patient so I hope to keep up with it.
