I'm at the ship. Just when I was feeling like a badass, they take all my toys away.

Back to being horrified of every shadow and sound.

I need another weekend to recover from that.

That was fun and nerve wracking at the same time. VR is the game console of the future.

Now I want to play a normal shooter with VR where I can RELAX a bit.

I've got a Pavlovian thing going on. The feeling of dread and anxiety carried over for while. I fired up Tomb Raider to finish off the last section and I had some leftover anxiety / fear from RE7.

I wanted to see how the game was without VR. Since I know the main jump scares I knew it wouldn't be a real test but it wasn't remotely the same experience. Somewhat negating the test is the fact you get a 3 shot albert to start the replay from the first save box. That made the shitty ammo good and the good ammo real good.

Much harder to aim in standard. VR tracking your head makes it much easier to get headshots. Overall, I enjoyed the replay. With Albert and knowing how to do everything, I think it took half the time. So having played it twice, I wanted to see if VR would make it spooky again.

Of course it wasn't nearly as spooky as the first time. Now I know when I am safe and when I am not. The Boss encounters are still much harder in VR. Much freakier in VR. I prefer the VR experience even with the graphical hit.

I'm 100% sold on the tech. Now I just wish a big open world RPG would use VR. As much as I loved this experience, I'm not a huge Horror fan. Probably took at least 8 months off my life with my first play through.

I do hope every game gives us the option for smooth walking. I know it makes some folks ill, but the janky 30degree turns per bump is far more disorienting to me and after a few short attempts at the start, I never got motion sickness again.

did my 2nd playthrough without VR as well. Played on normal and got the <4hrs, no item box, no heal, all coins, all bobbleheads, and all files trophies. wasnt close to the same experience without VR. Shooting was way harder too

Gonna do Madhouse next. With VR

Fewer saves. Less ammo. Everything in different places. Monsters with massive health.

I'd give anything for Fallout 4 to come to PSVR. That game has a HUGE map and so much to do and explore. Would be amazing to play in VR.

They ARE making it for the computer VR (whatever the name of the headset is) but I want them to make it for PSVR

VR still brings the fear factor on my 3rd play.

Monsters really look MUCH bigger in VR.

I just opened a door and Jack instantly grabbed my arse. Scared the hell out of me. Not talking about the "cut scene". This was after that. I knew he was walking about, just bad luck he was standing next to the door when I went through and his face was an inch from mine.

Tip for the new players... BLOCK

Was too freaked on first play to remember to do it.

This time I am blocking and it makes a huge difference.

just knocked out all the minigame DLC. S ranks on all of Jack's 55th Birthday levels, completed Nightmare and Night Terror, as well as Ethan Must Die.

Cant wait to do the "story" DLC (bedroom, 21, Daughters)

100% all the DLC. The 21 game is pure fricking RNG bullshite. Took me 2.5 hours to get the last trophy (have to beat 10 opponents in a row) and if I would've lost to the last guy, I would've had to do it all again. Last guy has so many bullshite trump cards that make it totally unfair. Got lucky and he busted

ETA: Madhouse is ridiculous thank goodness for the circular saw

The damage you take in Madhouse is insane. The circular saw is a godsend.

Yeah madhouse is a good example of how not to do difficulty. I feel like it was designed with all the unlockables in mind. Don't know what I would've done without them.

Infinite stunlocking Jack and Marguerite was hilarious.

I played the beginning hour last night and I'm not sure I could play the entire game honestly. I'm just too big of a pussy and the game is fricking nerve racking. I'm afraid I would spend the money on it and never make it through

You can do it, trust me. First 3 hours are the worst. Once you amass an arsenal and start murdering shite, it's not scary. The first areas are by far the scariest as well. It really is just a good, fun game with tons of replayability.

Beat it on Madhouse last night and got my platinum. Madhouse scared me a few times with the repositioned enemies.

I beg to differ. It isn't AS SCARY but there are still some jump scares and still plenty of stressed / anxious / frightening moments.

Heck on my 3rd replay I still had that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Admittedly I am easily spooked.
