I still haven't beaten this game despite putting a frickton of hours into it. (although this is normal for me. I just beat Skyrim for the first time 3 weeks ago despite playing about 80 hours)

Everytime I play it I just frick around on side-quests and play five-finger filet or poker or horseshoes or go hunting hawks, lions, bears, etc.

You mean mountain lions I'm guessing?

I first saw that and was trying to think where the hell you found a lion

I love playing poker and get caught cheating so I can duel. I've probably killed 500 people doing this

Are you talking about helping out the first chick lasso the cows? If so, yes, the game gets much much better. One of the bestparts of the game is wasting time hunting and gathering. If you don't enjoy the side missions, the game probably isn't for you.

Hell I still haven't finished the game because I can't stop hunting when I see animals.

Ghost Town:
quote:

You probably will never see this unless you're a raging psychopath. Pick a town, any town, now proceed to kill every single last horse, dog, man, woman and chicken. Once done, the game pronounces it as a Ghost Town and for the entirety of the remainder of your current play-through, it will remain eerily empty. Rather morbid really. The only thing we noted missing from this amusing aside was a steadily decreasing Population sign stuck in the dirt on the town border. A crossed out and adjusted figure would have been a lovely little extra.

That's awesome. How does running from the Marshall's effect it I wonder?

I always had fun lassoing women and throwing them on the train tracks and waiting for the train. You can get an achievement for it.

Especially those bitches that you come up on and act like they're in trouble and then 5 dudes pop up and start shooting at you.

Well I have yet to see anything awesome, just boring, annoying missions. By your response, I'm guessing it gets better?

I thought the same thing. Beginning was poorly done, IMO, but it's necessary to see what JM is like. I didn't like at first, but later on, it gets so hard to put it down

Nice. I think I will have to do another playthrough as the bad guy. I usually play a whole game twice, but I could with RDR. Love that game.

How do you gold medal a mission? I have never figured that out.

Combination of speed and head shots. There's one short mission in particular that you can breeze through pretty easy just for the achievement. Check youtube.

Tried to Ghost Town Armadillo, it didn't really work. I did kill 342 innocent people though

nice. I seriously just tried to do it about an hour ago and got my honor all the way from the far right to just past 0. Ended up getting away and came back but there were still people there.

Its fun until you make it to mexico, then its a pain in the arse.

This. I am tired of just riding back and forth doing repetitive missions. I enjoyed the game until I got bogged down in mexico. I will give it a few more hours this week to see if it improves.

It does. FWIW, I thoroughly enjoyed Mexico. You have to play the ending though. Just incredible.

If you hated the beginning of the game, you'll really hate the last few missions with John.
