question for mass effect gurus

im about 3 hours into the first mass effect game. So far I've been responding trying to appease everyone. I've been tempted to choose negative or wild answers that I think will be more entertaining, but dont want to risk losing anything I may gain by being friendly to everyone.
Is there any benefit to me trying to remain courteous with my answers or should I just do whatever I want.
I do not plan on giving this game any replays once Im done.

Don't think about them as "good" and "evil" decisions like most games.
Sheppard is more of a "ends justify the means" kind of guy. While some choices may look like you are making the cut and dry "evil" decision, sometimes in Mass Effect it is the thing that needs to be done.
Answer how you really fell about the situation.
I prefer this approach, Mass Effect to me was my journey. It will be different than other folks, but ultimately it comes to a canon conclusion, which I think it was supposed to do.

Know that if you plan on exporting your games then some of you're decisions will have lasting consequences through the next two games. And eventually you will have to make decisions between party members. Or at least one big one.
I would recommend just doing what you want though if you're not going to do a replay though.

"I had sex with Alison Brie once. Why would I do it again?"

Looking back, who cares if has lasting consequences? It's a video game and is supposed to entertain you. When I started acting a fool I had more fun. Don't me wrong...game is great no matter how you cut it. Yeah, graphics were meh and controls suck but characters and story were top notch IMO

I played ME2 fully 7 times. It's my favorite game ever.

I've played 1 three times, 2 three times, and 3 two times. One of the best re-playable series ever.

I don't why this was funny to me
I've played 1 once and started 2 twice. I consider myself lucky that I still get to experience ME2 for the first time ever. Along with most other games, like HL2 I just finished
Where is Scruffy to weigh in? I'm surprised he hasn't posted. Mass Effect subject lines usually draw him in like a moth to a flame

LINK
This link explains how the morality system works. You dont always have too stick to one or the other with your responses and action but in general you should.Basically dont take the middle road if you want to get the most options out of the paragon or renegade roles.

I had nothing to add that wasn't already posted.
I've played ME1 probably 5 times, ME2 probably 4, and ME3 once.

Scruffy, did you ever look at the new ending?

My numbers are similar except I refuse to admit I ever played 3. I have a faint hope that maybe one day I will have an accident and have that part of my memory wiped.

I think it's become "cool" to hate on all aspects of ME3 now. It was an excellent game aside from the ending honestly (which was amended to my liking)

The only tip I have for Mass Effect is to stop playing before the final 10 minutes of Mass Effect 3. When you get to that point, take the disc out of your console, destroy it, and then try to never again think about how Mass Effect 3 takes a giant dump on the chest of the series.

There are definite good parts of ME3, especially 2 of the scenes with your companions. However, it also made sure that the choices you actually made in the first two games meant nothing, for example the reintroduction of certain species even if you chose to eradicate them in ME1.

Treat Liara like the little bitch she is.

the controls really are garbage. the clunkiness is really holding this game back as a decent shooter. the cover mechanics are horrendous. aiming is spotty when coming out from cover. my crew doesnt always listen to my commands. been pissing me off during these huge firefight missions.

Am I the only one that doesn't hate mass effect 3's ending?
I mean it's not great but I don't think it affects 3 or the series as a whole.
I might have only gotten the updated ending though
