I mean, they win tons of awards every year. I would maybe attribute the hype to Sony fanboys who will grasp onto anything first party, but a lot of people feel these are great games.

First off, you guys swing as crazy in the opposite direction. The game has a good story, high production values, great score and great mechanics.

You may not like the story but I like it. It has a twist. I completely agree that by the end of the game you are tired of the repetitive action but they did literally the exact same thing with Last of Us.

It is hyperbole to call the game trash when it has at minimum a decent story, great score, and great acting.

It isn't on the same level as trash.

You may not like the style of game. Not the actual game.

Carson prefers Tomb Raider over Uncharted. I like both.

You guys don't understand the massive love for the Uncharted universe. I don't get the love for all the FPS online BS. I don't think it is trash, just not my cup of tea.

And I don't think it's very honest to say they have the same mechanics. They play very differently

Not so fast my friend...

Gun fights:
Hide behind obstacle, wait for bad guy to pop out, blow his brains out while using the same aim/shoot buttons

Hand to hand fights:
Rape the square button with the occasional triangle button for counter moves

The only thing innovative is the stealth, scavenging and crafting modes in the last of us. Everything else is essentially the same.

I would agree they are similar as I said up top, but the crafting sure as heck makes it somewhat different and the massive amount of ammo in U4 makes it different.

They are similar in cutscene / action / cutscene /action.

We are at the final spot...nope...now we are there...nope. Now?

Yeah. But we all know popular, voted on by said experts and/or mainstream is not always "good".

The 2nd and 3rd are terrible, absolute garbage. The 4th I saw at times where one can say the game is great. Then it all comes back to terrible gameplay and soo many damn cut scenes. It ruins the whole game for me. Take a note from Valve when it comes to telling a story with gameplay.

Come on....why wouldn't pirates love boxes with wheels.

They definitely shot the wad on that one. Hopefully they learn from U4 and don't do anything like box with wheels for Last of Us 2.

I want to know how all the Secret Societies in video games are able to keep torches lit for 100s of years.
