PS3 repair or sell?

My ps3 went caput. Turns off and blinks red after being turned on a few seconds. Is it worth it to try to fix it or pay someone to? Or should I try selling it for parts on craigslist or ebay?

I would definitely fix It. Sounds like something easy too. Can't let that impressive hardware sit idle.

as an entertainment center. I occasionally buy PS3 games I'm hyped into buying & then after playing one time, they sit on the shelf. If/when I get time to play games it's on the PC mainly.
I'm thinking of getting an Amazon Fire TV to replace it, maybe depending on how much it would take to fix it. I did open up the ps3 and aired it all out, past taking out the fan in it, I didn't go down to the motherboard/cpu area.

It isn't hard to repair. It's taking everything apart and being very careful not to screw anything up like the ribbons and stuff like that.
If it's the more common problem of over heating it's just thermal paste and a Heat gun for the repair.
Thermal Paste can be bought at a CPU store or online for $5 or less. You don't need much of it. The video can be found online. I had a fat version and repaired mine and traded it in when they had a double trade in value day @ Game Stop. I then bought a slim version of the PS3.

Spent last night taking it apart & putting paste on it. Didn't fix the it. Think anyone would want it for parts?

You might sell it on ebay or craigslist. You wont get much though.
